Hey guys, din't know where to post this but still was kind of confused over these two products as I am planning to get anyone of these!

I have both, i got the PS3 only to play a game called "god of war" coz the game's THAT good, it has awesome graphics compared to xbox and gameplay is very good too, the move sensor is far more responsive and accurate than kinect but you'll need to hold it in your hand. Which is really not motion-sensing should be all about.

The games are fast paced and quality, details, colour, responsiveness are all better with PS3. If you happen to have a Bravia full-system, the experience is even better.

However, PS3 does not use cutting edge technology which is already out in the market. Sony is yet to catch up on the latest gig's.

Unless you mind spending a couple of thousands extra - xbox it is...
I recently got the 360 slim version along with Kinect sensor. The graphics for kinect games are not all that great while the regular games are quite decent, not as good as PS3 level graphics though.

Games like HALO, Call of Duty, etc are very immersive since there's a HUGE online multiplayer community for Xbox, compared to PS3. If you are a big fan of online gaming, look into this. Since it gives you many more hours of fun!

Kinect games are good fun for the whole family, they are relatively easy to play and showcase the pinnacle of today's gaming technology. The motion sensor based games would put a smile on the face of even the most grumpiest video-game-hating person to see/try it. You'll have to experience it for yourself to get to a verdict.

There's no recommendation, just pro's and con's (excluding the illegal aftermarket stuff) - take whatever suits you best.

Hey I have got the PS3 yesterday! Also purchased a FIFA11 I am yet to go shopping for other games ! Have played Kinect in a couple of friends place well dint like it that much was kinda into PS3 after getting some info from a few other PS3 users! Anyways thanx a ton brother, I also wanted to know if I go to richi street and get those duplicated cds it wont work on the PS3 just like that will it?

And I have actually looked into a 42" Bravio So will get that after or before Diwali too! And I aint such a big online gamer now a days! I would be happy with a few others joining me with a joystick right beside me!

As of now, PS3 is the best deal, for the following reasons:

1. Lower cost due to a recent discount. For Rs. 20,000, you can get 320 GB Version with a wireless remote, Move kit with camera, plus 2-3 games... check flipkart for the best offer. Sacrifice some things from this list and you can get a 160GB Version for 16-17 thousand.
While Xbox is still beyond 22k for a very moderate version AFAIK...

2. PS3 has Smaller & lighter Remote. That Xbox has a big and heavy remote which basically sucks, if my opinion is taken. Great Ergonomics...

3. Best Graphics Processor called the Cell in the PS3. Be aware that not all games can fully utilize the Cell processor that good...

4. Hardware specs are great.

Guys, i need an advice .I want to buy a laptop,a cheap laptop around 25k not more than that, am on the verge of finishing my last year ,so i want it for doing projects,so what i am looking at is Dells M101z which is 21k but it is too small and the CPU is entry level 1.3Ghz,I want a config in which i can run MS Visual studio,eclipse and all kind of programming software.
ACER offers attractive config at that price,but i have no friend who uses ACER lappy's,i don't know about their quality and reliability ,somebody shed some light on this.Also please suggest any other brands|series offering a good config at that price ,just a 2ghz processor will do.

Vaio is probably the only brand that i haven't heard any complaints about.

Everything is good except processor-AMD E-350 @1.6Ghz,that's kinda slow.I've looked up Samsung's RV-511 it has Intel p6100 Dual core @2Ghz ,pretty good config,price is around 26k,don't know about samsung's reliability and build quality..heating issues etc etc,all i keep hearing about every time is DELL DELL DELL .

from my friends' experiences (3-4 ppl) , DELL works awesome for about a year and a half smoothly and then the problems start appearing. I had an HP laptop (2008) on which i could fry an omlette. Its display adapter suddenlty stopped working one fine day. both HP and nVidia had stopped that particular model and there was nothing i could do except throw it away :/ So I would never recomment HP to anyone.
No idea about Samsung. Their configs seem good and that too at a good price.

BTW, I don't think the clock speed should affect the speed by a huge margin. Unless you are gonna run visual studio, eclipse, netbeans, maya... etc all simultaneously, i don't think the clock speed makes a difference.

Hmmm yes,but i am trying to get the best config available at that price,so intel p6100 outperforms that proccy,i've checked the cpu benchmarking results too.Certainly i will not be sticking with programming stuff all the time,i will play some light weight games too,so there lies a problem with going for Sony VAIO .

How about LEnovo? G560,G570? same config as samsung's at the same price Intel p6200... ??

samsung it is then. There are a lot more options in the cheaper range but better buy the best available in the price range.

Ok guys,i've extended my budget a little more to 30~32k,now i have Sony vaio ,samsung and dell under the radar.Sony vaoi vpceh25En is good but iot has got only 2gigs of RAM and 320Gb HDD,also Nvidia 410M graphic card.What about dell 14R or 15R with a dedicated graphic card?

dude .. 15K is too much of money ... for less than 10k . u can get awesome G.card ... as ur requirement is only for entertainment.
save money ..might be useful in some other upgrade

it should ..

mine was AMD 4600 X2 brought 3 years back .. with 8500GT 512MB G.card.[3k then now should be 1.7k]
its running each and every game [very high def game i need to reduce settings].

then the latest available CPU/GPU shuld be able to run everything
