I guess most of the people who are playing Undercover and complaining about the crappy graphics and framerates are using the torrented version that comes with a bad crack.(Wait for it to release).
I don't think it's as bad as people are saying it is. And that IGN review is pure BS.The reviewer is nit-picking at every detail as most of Undercover's open world system,that he ridiculed so much,is the same as NFSMW. I dont know if he has played Most Wanted at all.

As someone who has played the X360 version put it:
"Was playing the X360 version for a couple of hours... way better than prostreet for ppl who wanna experience the original nfs arcade racing.. graphics aren't all tat great and cannot be compared with grid.. The locations seem to be ripped off of the previous NFS titles... Car classification is copied like Grid -> American, European, Japanese.. Tuning is back to the simple Carbon style tuning. All those who have ordered it from predatorvj don't have to be disappointed, its not all tat bad as most ppl are saying it is.. guess its worth the money, and multiplayer is gonna be fun this time around unlike prostreet..

I need help regarding buying a graphics card for my pc.
Its Dual core 2.2Ghz ,
I am planning for Nvidia 8800 GT .
Wat do u Gaming gurus have to say ? plz lemme kno am very new to PC gaming as i was using PS2 for almost 4 years now, but now most of the good games dont come out on PS2.

I have checked the sony India website they are displaying PS3 40GB but globally PS3 60GB is available.

and if I go for PC upgrade then I am planning to to get these things :
ASUS P5B MX/WIFI-AP
ATI HD 4670 GRAPHICS CARD 512MB
1GB RAM 667MHZ.

Are you a more than average gamer?
If yes, I would recommend going for a Crossfire motherboard ( if you prefer ATI Cards) or SLI motherboards ( if you prefer Nvidia Cards). You get to upgrade more with less money later on.

4670 is a great card. But right now, the prices seem to be increasing due to this dang dollar value. Wouldn't recommend buying now. I am waiting till december, hoping prices will reduce significantly.

If you go for an upgrade, I would recommend putting 2 GB RAM atleast

The cheapest 8800GT i can see now in the market is 512MB POV Nvidia 8800GT at 10K. (expensive card I think) What is your budget? A 9600GT 512 MB costs half of that now and its performs only slightly lesser.

@chilled: What kind of games do you like to play? I am not sure the 8800GT would run the latest games (especially the First Person Shooters) with all the bells and whistels turned to the max. That said, it is a pretty good card if you don't believe in cramming up all the settings available in a game to the maximum.

As of now, the price of the 8800GT is somewhere around the Rs.11,000 mark.

P.S:
You seem to be more of a console gamer, to me. Why not wait for sometime and perhaps get the PS-3? That's one heck of a console and it comes with the added advantage of not having to upgrade the graphics card every 8-10 months..

@chilled: You should go for the best one that your PC and Pocket allows. It doesn't really matter what kind of gamer you are. You never know which game you might like but don't have the real hardware to play that game. Go for the best one that you can. When it comes to hardware always go for the best you can. It doesn't take too long to make a new system obsolete.

@Aryan : yeah am a console guy , but PS3 here costs around 25K and am not sure if the mod is available for tha same to play pirated dvds, the orignals are so costly tat i can get a graphics cards which might be equivalent to 4
PS3 DVDs .

Games am interested in : GRID Farcry.... which are not available on PS2.

@chilled: I say that's a bloody good price for an 8800GT.. As for PS3, yes it is damn expensive as far as consoles go, moreover, the prices of the original titles for the PS3 just sucks the life out of any gamer worth his/her salt!

Be advised though Far Cry-2 is not the game it was touted to be. It has gorgeous visuals and all the bells but the gameplay really is not up there (if you know what I mean). Far Cry, on the other hand is a terrific game - one of my personal all time favourites! GRiD, well, is one awesome game. I love that game although certain people would disagree (case in point being Mr. Leon).. What say Leon?

get a PS3 man .. but wait for the 80GB unit to hit India as it is replacing the 40 GB unit worldwide .. at the same price .. Also wait for the firmware to be upgradable to 2.5 .. what I hear is that it's better to get one imported from japan or the US as the PS3 is a good upscaling DVD player + BD player ..

For some godforsaken reason .. india falls in region 3 of Bluray and hence it makes more sense to get a region 1 player so you can play multiple movies and not only hey babyy again and again and again.

It'll run the latest games with Max settings, but resolution might be limited to 1600*1200. Any higher then the it ll start lagging. Cuz memory is "just" 512 . But all in all, this card is just amazing. I am talking about the latest FPS shooters as well.

One more point: 9 series cards scale better than 8 series cards, so 9 series would be the way to go long term.

The newest cards are all about HD Gaming. For me, an average gamer, a 19 inch screen is more than enough. A regular console gamer looks at 29 inch screen.

ive been using ATI 4670 HD for a month now and im really happy with it
btw power supply needs upgrade it cost me around 6k .
