Lots of games offer weapon customization but their implementation is different. Rainbow Six Vegas has this customization in the loadout menu. Stalker Clear Sky has this but you will have to visit a Weapon specialist to get your gun modded. Dead Space too requires you to purchase upgrades from 'Mod my Gun into a monster' dispensing machine.

Can anyone suggest me a config for my pc which will make it Crysis compliant? More so, DX 10.1 compliant. I only need Mobo,processor,ram and gfx card. Budget is 30K.

For an AMD rig, try something like this:
1) CPU : Phenom II X4 940 BE @ ~10K
2) MBD : Biostar TA790GX @ 5K if you don't want to run 2 GPU's ,or Gigabyte GA-MA 790FX-DS5 which will allow you to put in 2gfx cards for around ~90% more performance @~10K
3) RAM : 2x2GB DDR2 @ 3.5 - 4K (Corsair XMS series)
4) GPU : an HD 4850 1 Gb or perhaps a HD 4870/4890? The prices have fallen in the USA already, maybe you could just wait and get them at reduced rates? @ ~ 6-7-12K??

with the above solution, you get a top-line AMD rig. and the 940 BE is about on par with the Q9550 so its better than the Q9400. By using all amd components, you also build a 'Dragon' certified system and can use the AMD-supplied software for OC'ing the CPU,GPU and RAM from Windows itself.
But check your PSU supply rating first.

whoa...!! the HD4870 dropping to 7k!!!! is this really happening??? i heard that the price has dropped only by 50$... so a HD4870 could be bought at a price of the HD4850 retailing a few months ago.... but seriously, is it dropping to 7k!!(50% of its last price) if so, i would go for the crossfireX right away!!!

is it possible to exchange a card and go for a bigger one of the same brand.. for instance, exchanging a gainward HD4850 and getting a gainward HD4870 and by paying a difference??

Whoops...sorry. Should have made it clearer. The HD 4850 is going to drop to ~7K for the 1 GB version and ~6K for the 512 MB one. 4870 will drop to ~10K and the 4890 will drop to ~12K. Sapphire has already brought these prices into effect and other mnf's will follow suit sooner or later.

The step-up program is not there for ATI cards but it is there for Nvidia and that too only in the US AFAIK. But I guess you can sell your card here for a decent amount.

i thought u did not take into consideration the games that are released afterwards

buddy i ve known of a very few games who remain exclusive
after done n dusted on a gaming console.... games are released for us poor pc gamers including sony too

It's not the ATI or Nvidia service but the distributors' and dealers' service that is necessary. I'd say there is no difference in the two as if anything goes wrong in your card while it is under warranty then the dealer will get it fixed or get it replaced. Now that part is brand-independent. Why ATI is being recommended by people at this point of time is because they have a performance-price ratio which is far better than Nvidia. This may change (or may not) at year-end when the GT300 and HD 5xxx series comes out but for now ATI is the way to go.

My mistake,I have a habit of calling everyone dada.

Ati's service depend on the make of the card you are going to buy. Sapphire and MSI are on the top of the best manufacturers of Ati cards.You wont have much trouble claiming for replacement if the card goes kaput under warranty.As regards the drivers for the card,there's some drawbacks as some or the other issue crops up from time to time. Though the current drivers (9.6) are very stable.
I hope you have decided on the PSU you will be using?

DDR3 RAM's and motherboard's are in the market now..as of now, should i go for DDR3 or DDR2 spec cpu??..will DDR2 become obsolete soon?

And guys how do we find out if our hard disk is on legacy mode or not? That will help me to upgrade without formatting hdd. I have a Hitachi SATA hdd.

You can combine any two cards for xFire, while for SLI you need identical cards (different manufacturers is ok) but if a DDR3 card is paired with a DDR5 card then the performance of the faster card will be adjusted to match the slower card. So no reason to get a faster card, maybe you could get another 4850?

DDR3 provides a ~3% increase in performance as compared to DDR2 at the moment. If you are going for an i7 rig then DDR3 is unavoidable but any other platform a DDR2 setup is the best VFM.
