If so, are you able to play games on it on the monitor's native resolution that is 1600x900? Do the games display the resolution in the graphics settings or do they still show the standard display settings like 1680x1050 or 1280x1024? And does it cause stretching in the image?

I think I asked too soon, perhaps?
      .
its 20inch Samsung SyncMaster 2043..GTA4 shows max resolution as 1600x900.and the images do not stretch.and NFS Prostreet shows max res as 1440x900 and there is no visible stretching.

      • ^ Oh that is good to hear. Even I was thinking about that monitor but was having a doubt about the widescreen native resolution of that display. Thanks!

Both are good. It's like Honda and Yamaha. The choice depends on your budget.

Both are good , a rough comparison is like this ->

x4 -> quad core -> Phenom II x4 -> i7 , and the prices are also in this same order.

Phenom 2 x4 are the most overclockable processors here (dont know abt i7) and I guess the most VFM too.
