Finally laid my hands on Lara......uhm....I meant Tomb Raider Underworld.
Somehow got to the second chapter. Couldn't locate a lever that was required to open the door. Got fed up in five minutes and uninstalled the game.I am back to playing Dead space again.

P.S.: Okay,I admit it.I hate playing as a girl.

After being disappointed and frustrated with GTA4, I was offered some gaming solace by Prince of Persia. I have always been a fan of the series and this game is a big step forward, but in a new direction. New story, new visual style and a new heroine too. The cartoonish graphics looks fresh and beautiful. But if you like those realistic textures, shiny metallic surfaces and cool water effects in games like cyrsis and farcry2 (lke I do), you will be a bit sad. On the bright side, the game runs really smooth. Bump up all settings (albeit few) and still you will get a fluid 40-50 FPS in any decent rig I guess. Gameplay feels a bit simplified - no crazy combos in fights, no deaths and you get some assistance for platforming as well. So less button-mashing. But it will be still best enjoyed using a gamepad. I had problem using my Xbox (not 360) gamepad as it wont recognize. So I am using Xpadder software.

@rakesh: Is GTA-IV (PC) really THAT unplayable and buggy? Damn! I WANT to play it, but looking at the negative user comments & reviews, I am kind of skeptical now. I was even thinking of getting an original version since it's cheap and also perhaps if Rockstar did release some patch to sort out the glitches, that would be hell lot easier to apply on an original version of the game.

But, if it is really that unplayable, then I doubt any number of patches would be able to make that game smooth..

@Aryan:my biggest problem with GTA is how it runs for how it looks. I lowered all settings to minimum and still get extremely choppy framerates on a core 2 duo 2.2 Ghz, 8800 GT and 3 GB ram. Look at the couple of screenshots and see the frame rate at top left (compare it with Farcry2 ). There is no reason why a mediocre looking console port should run so slow! If you can get over that, 500 Rs is good deal. Here it retails for $45. I found it is not required to have games for live or social club accounts to save the progress.

@rakesh: This is ridiculous, isn't it? The gaming forums all over the net are also filled with people swearing to never try any GTA games henceforth! It seems more like an alpha/beta "test" version than a final OEM version of the game!

Darn! 14-15 FPS at lowest settings is terrible...

Are you running the game in Vista? If so then first update to Service Pack 1.
Follow these steps if you already have SP1.
1) Go to the options of the setup.exe on your GTA disc.
3) Choose the compatibility options there.
4) You need to tick the field with Windows XP (SP2) and accept changes.
5) Run the setup now.

Hi guys I brought the G-Skills Pi Black RAM(2x2GB DDR2 800) on Saturday for my rig. Getting better frame rates. Windows booting time has also improved. These are great RAMs. Now I want to buy a 500GB+HDD because my 160 is filled completely and after that I will buy GTA IV.

I got the same error. Installing SP3 in XP or SP1 in Vista should fix.

I am skeptical about your playability on this hardware. See one of my earlier post on how it runs on 3 GB ram and an overclocked 8800GT with 512MB. Give a try and let us know
