When i was building my PC i ordered the PSU from Ebay.And the mobo,graphics card, RAM were all ordered from IT Depot. Some items are quite cheap and some are priced quite higher as compared to the rest of the sources.So you just need to compare and order stuff.And they do pack the products quite neatly while shipping.

You need to cross-check the pricing across the net as well as the stores.Originally posted by sarbanoxley View Post

Easy solution for ur PC speedupOriginally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostA problem is annoying me guys:
My PC 2.8 Dual core, Intel Motherboard and 2GB RAM (Win XP Pro) is running very slow. I mean that the response time is very slow. Today, it crossed it's limits. The PC took 1 Hour to extract a 4GB RAR file, and end has not yet come, it also took 1.5Hrs to install NFS prostreet on my PC. Please Help Guys
I have Licensed Quick Heal antivirus 2010, scanned the PC for viruses but no found.
Is the problem due to HDD. Before when I was on 80GB HDD SATA all things were normal. When I switched to 500 GB seagate this all started. Once the HDD went kaput, I got the replacement under warranty and now after installation, the things were fine when there were 3-4 softwares installed in OS. But, as soon as I installed some 10-11 programs the PC showed it's character and started having delays. It requires 5 mins of Idling after starting the XP to load all programs, during the course the HDD like keeps on blinking for 5 mins and after that all becomes normal. And the problem reappears whenever a big file is installed or copied from one partition to another.
1. First scan with AVG [install if needed..its free] and remove all spyware and viruses if there any
2. Install CCleaner [freeware] and scan and clean, go to registry option in the tool and scan and cleanup [don;t worry no side effects]
3. use the CCleaner tool to disable the prog during startup [check the option] .. it will really make PC superfaster during bootup also
Now for 4GB rar file extract .. it should take around 30 min max with 4GB ram [in my case] depending on ur RAM usage by other prog during that time ... the duration will vary,.. if it takes more time,...reboot ur PC and restart the extraction
Defragment ur disk before use

Thanks for replies friends.
After 8-9 Hrs of mind-tiring attempts, I found out a strange thing? I just uninstalled the 'Primary IDE controller' driver and rebooted my PC, after reboot the drivers were reinstalled automatically by XP, and now it is running terrifying fast. No problems now.
@tanay: No spyware, virus, malware found, everything was normal right from CPU usage not more than 1% at idle stage to the RAM usage. And now the PC is running faster than ever.
@skyknight:
I tried all the things but nothing worked.
@sarbanoxley
Quick heal is indeed very good. No break downs in last 3 years due to viruses or spywares or such internet aliens. It detects and clears effectively without affecting the system speed or performance. I have tried Norton on my father's laptop but it slows PC and takes alot of time to scan, Mcafee is Ok, AVG has caused a couple of breakdowns on my friends PC. But, my PC with Quickheal is absolutely virus free.
I have HD tune for monitoring the HDD tempreature and other parameters, I ran it and it showed no 'damaged(red)' portions on HDD.
I have Everest for monitoring CPU temp, Mobo temp, and other parameters.
Seems on higher tide, anyway; good buy.Originally posted by Aryan View PostI got it for Rs.8,200/-.
@naggo: Thanks. Problem solved.

Anyone here have APC 1KVA model
My APC BR1000 is conking off every 3-4 months due to voltage fluctuations in my area(Voltage varies from 170V-250V) ---Now the ups is telling me i have less than 1 min backup and i should be upgrading my UPS.It crashes my pc if the power goes off
.
APC guys advised me to go for a stabilizer to protect the APC--I bought this APC to protect my pc but now APC itself needs protection
.
Legendary reliability my a@#
