My office laptop's configuration is -

512 MB GRAPHICS
15" SCREEN
GENUINE WINDOWS XP,though upgraded to windows vista
80 GB HDD

I have AMD and a graphics card both runs temp (40-60) ,, and if only if playing games and watching HD videos ur facing prob ...of choppy video .. then it must be Graphics card heat prob ... i am 100% sure on this , and ur facing the prob with all appl then its CPU heating prob..

check again the heating prob and if needed put one additional fan for cooling

I have this problem only while playing games,and not whn playing HD videos,i am not facing any problem with any other applications

and one more thing the graphic card is onboard.

My cpu score is 1225 and it equals this INTEL cpu

Intel Core2 Duo T7400 @ 2.16GHz

That's great, considering that your PC is 4 years old. AMD's are really turning the heat on for Intel processors.

ya man i have tried GTA4 but it makes the core and GPU temp go very high so i am not installing it again.. btw i like the ones with hand to hand combat and stealth....

well,therez an update on my problem,it has been solved on removing VISTA and installing WIN 7.A month long struggle has finally ended in a drastic way,none of them whom i suspected was the root cause,its VISTA who was the culprit.
Downloading latest drivers now.
