At the risk of stretching your budget, may I suggest the Suzuki Gs150. It is costlier by 10,000/-. But if you can somehow stump up the money, it will be a keeper for many years. Very capable on the highway (speed and pickup), excellent stability, large tank (15 ltrs), good FE (50-55), competitive pricing & very refined engine, gearbox and suspension. The CBZ Xtreme is an alternative if service centres are an issue to you. Or, the Unicorn if you are prepared to wait.

I bought a Twister and I too did not want to spend more than Rs 60,000/-. It is a fine bike, but I now wish I had somehow found the cash and bought a more powerful bike. The short-term pain of spending another 10,000 will surely be offset by the benefits over the long run. Forget the Hero Hondas in this segment (including the Glamour and Super splendor) - the Twister is better.

If you absolutely do not want to spend more than 60,000; try buying used bikes - used Unicorns/CBZ Xtremes tend to stay trouble free with regular maintenance.

So my suggestion would be the
    a. Pulsar 135LS within 60,000 (read ownership threads re. pillion comfort - split seats and awkward read mudguards)
    b. used Unicorn / CBZ Extreme
    c. new Suzuki / CBZ Extreme / Hunk if you can overshoot your budget.

Lastly, it is unlikely you will get DC lighting in this price range.

From all the info I gathered from you guys & externally, it seems like even for a new biker for me, I need a 150cc beast

I will go test ride on Discover 150(It has DC lighting too), Suzuki GS150R & Honda Unicorn this weekend.

Oh yes!! I finally managed to gather some more money too from Dad. My budget is 65k now

I will test ride & decide after this weekend. On the weekend after this one, I am go gonna get my first ride.

I will have to check for Suzuki service here.

After the long stressful weekdays, finally I got the weekend for test rides. Today I took test rides of Pulsar 135LS & Discover 150 & I will tell you my thoughts.

        Discover 150:

        Pros:
Gives the feels like kind of a big bike.
        Nice riding posture.
        Typical commuter
        Good suspension for the pillion
Decent pick up though less than P135.
        Cons:
Front disk is good but not excellent
Rear brake is nothing to boast about.
Handling is good but not better than P135.
Console is not good to see in direct sunlight.
Seat looks big but no more than 2 people can fit.

        Pulsar 135LS UG:
        Pros:
        Compact & nice clip-ons.
        Great handling.
        Nice pick-up.
Excellent braking. Stopped from 45 instantly.
Seating is like half-sporty, half-commuter. Felt more comfortable than Discover.
        Cons:
Pillion comfort is not very good. Suspension for pillion is good but not excellent like Discover.
Finding neutral is a little bit tricky sometimes.

So guys, I finally made my choice. It will be a red Pulsar 135LS UG.

Booked mine. Will get delivery on 14th. Cheers mate!!
