R15 is the best out there!Just go get it unless you really really really don't like the sporty posture!
and about the back light...well anything is possible with the your local modifier! but the looks will grow on you and you will probably forget it once you start riding even!

that said...you cant go wrong the 220 either...but id say R15 any day!

Test Ride both and listen to yourself!

i would recommend the r15 as it is more refined than the p220 and there are some stability issues with the bajaj at high speeds dont know abt the 220 chk it....
and also am a fan of the fully faired bikes as against to semi faired ones...

Hey bro..I have also decided to buy R15 after great suggestions from xbhpians...My requirements were also the same as yours...and built also (though you are a bit heavier than me..I m 64 Kg..)
Anyways...R15 anyday for you..You have earlier owned a pulsar so I would suggest you to change to different brand..And brand like Yamaha.!!...Would be ideal shift for you...

I would say this depends more on what you want. The 220 Vs the R15 Is always a hot debate on the forums. 220 is a bike on Steroids, It has a lot of untamed power and is a beautiful bike. If you Love to hit the highway, I'd reccomend this bike mainly because of 2 things, it's weight and projector headlamps. Its more of a tourer than a sporty track tool unlike the R-15. The Low end torque is decent for City Use.

The R-15 is more for the Rossi In you. The Bike is refined and built with one use in Mind: Motorsports. Right from the Sporty Front fairing to the curvy sports tank, Aerodynamics is the only thing which strikes you. The chassis Allows you to do some extremely mad cornering and the beautiful Engine Just demands you to rev her more. The Rubbers are meant for Smooth Tarmac and the bike kind of suffers on Damp and Bad roads which you are most likely to encounter based on where you live. The Bike can be a star on the highways where triple digit cruising is very common. One place I've seen the R-15 Being Blown to bits is peak hour traffic! The Engine fails to deliver the low end torque and this can be a pain especiallay when riding with pillions.

Both bikes have a sporty feel to them and power is the mantra of both these bikes.

The Yamaha Needs a constant supply of petrol, but trust me, you wont really feel bad about the fuel hungry rocket! The Pulsie will demand constant attention and might be bad on terms of reliability. But Then again, It depends on how you maintain her.

Almost both bikes have become common these days, owing to the Youthfulness and the racing tag on them. Personally I'd go with the 220, mainly because I'm More of a tourer/commuter than a adrenaline Junkie, but also for one main reason, It's a Simple Oil and Aircooled Engine with a carb on it. This means I can take it to any local mechanic who can very simply do some juggad in case there is a trouble with the engine in the Middle of Nowhere. On the other hand, I would never face such issues with the R-15 as the maximum problem you would face would be the lack of petrol in the tank or probably a blown fuse somewhere.

I'd reccomend you to take a testride of both these bikes before deciding which one you'll buy. I hope you really dont any constraints on Mileage, If the answer is yeah, You'd better be looking at the Sub 200 class of the Pulsies and the newly launched Yammie,even though it just doesnt fit the bill.

Depends upon what you want from your bike.
According to my personal experience, be ready for some niggling issues with the 220. Secondly, engine is also on the harsher side and definitely more sound creating than the 150 and 180cc engines from Bajaj.
But apart from that, its a treat to ride anywhere and on any tarmac. The low and mid range (after 2.3-2.5k) is superb and imbibes in you a lovely adrenalin rush. Straight line ability is impeccable. The best part is the way the bike pulls from 85-90 kmph to over triple digit speeds. High speed stability is also very good.

I really dont think you need a big discussion on R15. It is by far the technically most advanced bike in India. I cant find a single flaw with the way the bike is/rides. Just that under congested city traffics, u would need frequent gear changes to keep it active.

Since you have already owned a Pulsar, R15 might just be a better/different experience you might want to own.

I would say only one thing..
if with a pillion OR with a +100KG weight(Not your case).. go for P220.

if solo rider.. don't think twice. just go for R15..
perfect upgrade from P150. and refined engine would be a delightful change.

ps: I also own a P150.

@T.S : if you have the money then nothing better than an R15

but Trust me the new 220 is very refined and gear box is buttersmooth if you upgrade from a '06 P150...
you can save your "hard earned money" for some new riding gears if you opt a P220.

P.S : testride is best solution ...You cant go wrong with any of these beautiful machines.

Thanks bro...I like Sunset Red and Yellow color...My personal favorite is Red as of now almost 90%...But I think Yellow is also cool and feels very sporty...I didnt like blue though...

Is R15's performance with pillion in city comparable to 125cc bikes? or is it equal to ordinary 150cc?
