One is 100cc category & other is 150cc category. Both are quite different. I will suggest you Discover 150cc instead, if mileage, performance & lightweight is your main concern.Originally posted by Zulu_Authentic View PostI am gonna book a bike for daily commuting of 25 km
Which bike should i choose? Honda Twister 110 cc or Yamaha SZ-X 153 cc?
Please tell us more about you concerns like mileage or performance, your height, build etc so that we can choose a more suitable bike for you. With Great Power, comes Great Responsibilities .....

When was this thread approved? Or mods forgot to put a Thread approved message?
Anyways.. Very little is legible in your request.
AAnyways.. as for your queriey, you require a commuter, buy a commuter. Twister is the one for you. I suppose, it will be lighter on you pocket in every way imaginable as compared to a Yamaha SZ. Isn't that what commuters are looking for?
Anyways, if you have any other specific requirements, please be more specific. Please Read the "How to" for this section and you will know what I mean.Advice is a form of nostalgia.

What is the use of Disc Brake in Commuter bikes? For doing stoppies at traffic signals?
I dont understand
These bike are light weight bikes and thus the stopping force required is very less as compared to the heavy Indian Bikes Like P220,ZMR,RTR.Speak Less,Speak Wise!

Usually our Indian commuters bikes like to road race, at least here that's what I have seen. So they feel fitting a disk brake makes them feel more confident in road-racingOriginally posted by haxor View PostPlease Edit your thread starting message.

Jokes apart, disk brakes are in light weight P135LS too.
Twister is a good choice but overpriced IMO. You could get a P135 at similar price. only 1.5k difference. D150 is a good commuter too but light on pocket at 52k, mileage is also good. It also have disk brakes. With Great Power, comes Great Responsibilities .....

actually a very few or none of xbhp members own this bike. And very few members have the experience of riding this bike. So it is hard for us to comment about this bike. But keeping in mind yamaha's previous bike we can expect this bike also to be a very decent one. Moreover they are using the same fz engine hence it would be very reliable & a very low maintenance one.
Therefore going for this bike makes a better senseNOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT

pls mention ur needs and ur ridin manner with avg dist travelled in a day etc etc.. i have seen the spec's of the yam and i must say, wat was yamaha thinkin of when the put a drum for a 150 cc ?? the last of that era was the cbz but still had an option for a disk break, which is the same for the acheiver.. but no where in the brocher did i see - disk break optional.. even 125's r comin with a disk these days..RED BULL did'nt give me WINGS, my BIKE did !!

what's the use of a disc brake in a commuter bike?? The bike isnt too heavy & hence a drum brake is enough for the required stopping force. Adding a disc brake would increase the cost & hence yamaha had removed it to keep the costs less. BTW it is already having a bigger drum brake than others so there is enough braking force.Originally posted by Dogg View Postpls mention ur needs and ur ridin manner with avg dist travelled in a day etc etc.. i have seen the spec's of the yam and i must say, wat was yamaha thinkin of when the put a drum for a 150 cc ?? the last of that era was the cbz but still had an option for a disk break, which is the same for the acheiver.. but no where in the brocher did i see - disk break optional.. even 125's r comin with a disk these days..
I know a colleague of mine who never drove a disc brake bike & one day he had brought a pulsar. After that he had 3 crashes on it. All the credit goes to the disc brake. Most of the people have only used drum brakes & use them with a very high force. But the disc's dont need that much force & hence it is not safer sometimes. Most of the accidents in india are because of disc brakes only. I am not against the disc brakes but the drum would be much safer in rural places & for commuting.
secondly, you are using too much of sms lingo which is against the xbhp rules.NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT
