I will check it out. Is there a price difference between the ss 125 and the stunner?

I am not looking at replacing my R15, just looking at a bike that I can abuse for the daily commute.

Mileage is also not the top priority. 45+ is what i get from my r15, anything above that is just awesome.

The price of SS is 4-5k lesser than that of the stunner & for detailed info please read the both links i have given.

You told that you wanted a substitute for your R15. Right??

        I have a zma (2004) and a r15 (2009) already.

        1. I am in the need for a bike that has superior ride quality, ergonomics (only for commuting in Delhi traffic, I do over a 120 kms daily) and it should be a light bike both in terms of feel and on the wallet. (It is mighty painful to make my r15 go through that everyday.)

        2. Performance is also required, but not too important. I do not want one of those 99.99999cc sissies.

        3. Fuel economy and style quotient come in next, I get about 45-50 kmpl from my r15 in traffic. The bike should should look half decent - I'm not expecting a Triumph Daytona 675 in terms of looks.

        4. Reliability should have been first :P - I would prefer a jap bike to a Hindustani one when it comes to this, they might not full fill my other needs though, the japs that is. It should be virtually 'maintenance free', i do not want to be running around in fear of my chain running dry or coolant level being too low or that weired noise that comes from the right side. I just DO NOT want that (have my r15 to worry about). I want to get to my destination in comfort and speed without bothering too much about potholes or the reasons stated above. With the mileage I put in a month 4xxx+ kms, the bike should last me for at least some time to come.

I do not intend to sell the bike, I never do.

        Please advise urgently

        Thanking you

buddy go in for the gladiator or even the the new launched sz is fine, i simply love the gladiator, the way u go through the traffic, smooth gear shifts, good mileage, reliable engine from yamaha. the 3rd best option would be a unicorn, if u get ur hand over u won't ever leave it

Yes sir I do want a substitute for the r15, but I am not replacing it.

I have read the articles and ss makes a lot more sense now, its weird how I did not think about it before. Will go and check it out today. And plus 2 yams is better than 1. :P

Thanks for all the help and info. I appreciate it.

I understand you kave a zma 2004. Isn't that the best bike for commuting? Especially since you do ~120 kms a day.
Mileage should be about 40. but you save 50k on a new bike.
Great suspension. your back is not going to hurt.
            Best handling.
ultra reliable. Bullet proof is the word I believe.
Almost no maintainance. service interval is 6k km which is the longest of any 2-wheeler.
Spares are expensive but replacements would be few and far apart.

Sir my zma is in no shape to be ridden, its lived through 2 major accidents and 60k kms of hard abuse. I have a build based on it though for later.

                Today is the 'D' day.

                1. Honda stunner retails at 59,xxx on road. (delhi)
                2. Honda twister retails at 53,xxx on road. The reason for this being here is clear -- 70 km/l
                3. Yamaha ss125 retails at 58,xxx on road.
                4. Work on my zma, save a few bucks and start saving for a 250+cc bike in the near future.
                5. Buy a new bike and use the zma engine to build some crazy beast in the future - if option 1 or 2 is chosen this is by default chosen.

                Please advise urgently.

ps: A very close friend who recently shifted back to the U.K is in need for a motorbike over there. I did not want to start another thread so put it here. I have heard of some 125cc 'learners' limit over there. His budget is about a 1000 quid. I told him to go for a rs125 or something, he does not want 2 strokes. A little help here would also be great.

Thanks to every one for there help.

4th Option is most apt and wise.

No matter what bad shape is your ZMA is in, it might not cost you as a new Stunner. And you have one of the most comfortable machine, but mileage wise its your take.

P135, Stunner, Twister etc are open chain again, if you want complete peace of mind dont go for them(unless you have obsessive compulsion disorder of no chain noise).

and My siggy might help you.

go for the japs.. consider sz or a gs150r.. both have very good riding quality..
by the way, if you'd been doing a little less riding than 120kms() daily..I'd say to stick with some gearless scooters.. They're the best in city traffic...that's another option, really...

when u already have an r15,zma i dont think u should invest more in a new bike just for commuting go for a well maintained 2nd hand bike like splendor, bike quite common but u can rely for long drives, maintenance, spares, comfort these are the basic things which i guess u r looking in and this bike being quite old in the indian market has a good image, well if ur interested in a new bike then its ur choice

The person is demanding a minimum mileage of 50+.
Why are you guys suggesting him a scooter which hardly manages to deliver 40kmpl.??
