I am looking for a bike within a bugdet of 80k - 100k, which should powerful and reliable. I had P220 and Fazer in my mind but got reviews form freinds as pulsar is not so reliable. The other option iI got to know off late is the HondaCBR 250. But pricing is an issue. Somewhere I read it would cost around 94k and some say it would cost around 1.5 lakh. Also I heard of the Honda 150R. Is this due to launch in India?

Topic Approved.
The Pulsar 220 and the Fazer are two different bikes, really. You just cannot compare the two. As for the CBR250R, it is due for launch early (1st quarter) next year (2011) and is scheduled to be priced in the range of Rs.1.5 lakhs odd. So, if you can wait till then, I would suggest you do, because the CBR250 is one HECK of a machine, I tell you!:)

Please do mention what kind of use you got , I mean if you are a tourer or daily commuter or may be a track person. Also what aryan said is right, there is no comparison between P220 and Fazer. Both are good bikes in there stands. Honda will be launching (if in case) CBR250, it will be a direct competition with Ninja 250 (Rs 300000 approx ) so i'm pretty much sure that quality of the bike will not be compromised over the price, can expect it to be around Rs 2.5 lakh but not below that for sure.Nishant Kumar

Honda CBR250 won't be near to Ninja, neither in power nor in price..Originally posted by thegame0012 View PostFirst of all, congratulations on thought for buying yourself a new ride

@ the game0012 : Basically I like riding in the fastest way....that wud define me as a track person....but I wud use the machine for weekend touring as well....
I like the P220 becouse of its look and the powerful engine....but then I got reviews as the performance wud drop down with time.....that was when I turned towards Fazer....
So guys...please giv feedback about both the bikes like the maintainace, max speed, fuel average etc....that would be really helpful...

Dont expect the fazer to cruise at 100+ comfortably. It would be screaming a lot at those speeds. Indeed no indian 150cc bikes can cruise at 100+ without any stress (R15 excluded).Originally posted by Blumarine005 View PostAs I am going through the reviews on various bikes, I am getting more confused. All your requirements are satisfied by the p220 & karizma. If you are ready to sacrifice a little on mileage then the karizma is the best tourer of the lot.NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT

Pulsar's power drop down with time? well... may be. but even a ten years old p220 will outrun a fazer anydayOriginally posted by Blumarine005 View Post@ the game0012 : I like the P220 becouse of its look and the powerful engine....but then I got reviews as the performance wud drop down with time.....that was when I turned towards Fazer....

No offence to any fazer owner but to me its plain poser bike. I mean you spend over 80K and get a 150cc 14 bhp bike. Covered with plastics and weighting over 140kg. You mentioned you like to ride fast. well in case of fazer forget that. Fz is far better choice than this.
Second, Karizma is really good old steed. Its relaxed and smooth and torquey and reliable. A perfect allrounder. But go for it only if you are willing to wait weeks or may be months for spares. Also consider hero and honda are parting ways. what will happen to spare availability then?
I wont even recommend you 220. Although it has amazing power, good fuel efficiency, good looks (although personally i dont like the looks).
It takes a hit on the reliability front. Its not that all 220's are unreliable but some of them are. Its like out of 100 few apples are bad. Buying a 220 or any other pulsar is like gambling. If you get a good one cheers then. and if you get a bad one. you wont buy any bajaj again (luckily I got the good one
)
So my recommendation is the r15. Every thing is amazing in this bike except the low rpm power, but who's riding like uncles
So do one thing, Extend your budget 2-3k's and get the yammie. Feel like rossi

Even I like the Karizma ....but the model has become a outdated.....if there is a choice between P220 and Karizma...I would like to go for Pulsar....But I don't want to regret after spending my hard earned money... I like Pulsar220(faired version) looks....and also it boasts of 21bhp which is a lot of power....

@Wanted DoA - +1 for that, I booked R15 for myself and its amazing machine both for touring and track.
Have you drove both the bikesOriginally posted by Blumarine005 View PostEven I like the Karizma ....but the model has become a outdated.....if there is a choice between P220 and Karizma...I would like to go for Pulsar....But I don't want to regret after spending my hard earned money... ? I mean both ZMA and P220 ? To be frank, ride quality of karizma felt much more better to me. P220 got great pick up and top end speed but still you feel that X factor missing, other hand , ZMA got bad reputation of aftersale service and rare spare parts
. Please do try r15 and I'm sure you will love it, my need was almost as yours and I loved this bike

i think you should also take apache rtr 180 into consideration.....it returns a decent mileage, acc and top speedOriginally posted by Blumarine005 View PostAs I am going through the reviews on various bikes, I am getting more confused. Here are some bikes which I alike and why?
