@ chitrak - I also considered the RTR 180....but the vibes are bothering me... I would use the machine 60% on highways and 40% in city...so my avg speed wud be over 70km/hr...if the bikes vibes at that range...it wud a wastage of my investment....Although I m seriously considering the R15 but Fazer is a competetion to it in terms of pricing....

Instead of taking a fazer buying a p220/ZMA/ or even fz would make a better sense. Fazer hardly manages to deliver 40km/ltr & if hence if you are considering a better mileage as buying factor then throw the fazer out of the window.Originally posted by Blumarine005 View PostDaily travel of 60 km made me put Fazer in one of my choices....it looks good...gves 40km/ltr...is a yamaha(creator of RX100) and is 25k lass than R15.
The fazer is nothing but an fz with an extra fairing & it doesnt has that good performance to justify that high price.
Fazer is a competition to R15???Originally posted by Blumarine005 View Post....Although I m seriously considering the R15 but Fazer is a competetion to it in terms of pricing....
On what grounds?? Pricing? Actually the fazer has got a horrible top end. Its only edge over R15 is its mid range & comfort. If you think the fazer is cheaper than R15 then almost all 150-225cc bikes in india are priced lower than the R15. Dont compare the prices of other bikes with R15. Its of a different league.
Do you know the fact that the price of fazer is nearly equivalent to that of p220 & karizma.
Why dont you try the P180?? It has got good performance, cheap price & good mileage (better than P220 & karizma atleast).NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT

well, the R15 would give you an avg of 40-45 if ridden <70kmph in the city...Originally posted by Blumarine005 View PostThats right...there is no match for the R15 but my daily commuting is around 60 kms..R15 wud make a big hole im my pocket....can anybody tell me whats the avg. fuel efficviency for R15 and does yamaha provides extended warranty. Daily travel of 60 km made me put Fazer in one of my choices....it looks good...gves 40km/ltr...is a yamaha(creator of RX100) and is 25k lass than R15.
never tried it on the highway though..
an additional benefit is that it has 6 gears so the engine is very much at ease at the speeds you intend to travel at...
70 comes at 5k..at this speed on the highway you can easily expect 40-45kmpl..
if ridden sanely, it'll return 40+.Originally posted by dineshsamtani View PostR15 is definately an amazing Machine and if ridden sanely will deliver 35-40 kmpl.
fazer is not a competition to R15 at all..Originally posted by Blumarine005 View Post@ chitrak - I also considered the RTR 180....but the vibes are bothering me... fazer, fz are city bikes, not at home on the highway..
although the tracks are the home for the 15, it has proved to be a good tourer as well as a city bike...
if you can shell out 110k then this is your ride..
i bet it won't disappoint you at all..
it is 100% reliable and quality is top-notch...
after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

From the day I saw R15 in the Auto Expo 2010 it stole my attention....now I am seriously considering it...rather lets say I have finally decided to for it...After following the R15 ownership thread closely I believe this is the machine that can quench my "NEED FOR SPEED".
But also I am concerned about the poor quality of service and spares as the members discussed their issues in the same thread. Hope so by the time I get my steed, all the issues might have been taken care of.

@ Blumarine005
Why not ZMR?. Give it a thought. It serves your purpose of touring & good average as it has FI.B o D a C i O u S
Wander logue
Grand Southern Raid | Munnar | Yercaud | Ootacamund
The increase in performance is directly proportional to the size of the hole in your pocket :D

well i am new to this community, and my pul 150ug 4.5 (odo- 2200kms) has been bothering me for the last 2 mts. it returns a mileage of 37-38 only, whereas previously it gave anything around 47.
the problem started when i went to the svc regarding a clicking noise (that comes from the right side) which agrravates on long distance driving (say 35kms at a stretch). i guess it was the tappet noise (which i didnt know then). the svc guy messed up with my tuning and since then my bike is returning a low mileage.
went to them again and they retuned from the previous setting. after that it gives <=40.........even a local mechanic was not succesful.
things have become really frustrating and so i decided to do it on my own.......the first thing i noticed was that the a/f screw was set at only 3/4 turns from the leanest position. is this right? or am i running lean? if so, why am i facing such low mileage? what is the optimal no. of turns(approx)?
plz help me out.....

Ur requirements are unclear in terms of travel...will u be using the bike for touring or long rides or short sprints within the city...
for city the fazer hold water...it satifies all the terms u have provided earlier...
on long runs though it falls well short...small rear seat also provides a drawback...the ZMA or the R15 are brilliant with the zma just about pulling ahead in terms of comfort over long distances....sigpicGirls are like roads, more the curves, more the dangerous they are.
To ride or not to ride?? is a....
very very stupid question....

The battle continues....Would be getting myself a bike sometime in March....was following the ownership thread of R15...found it incredible...but freinds prefer Karizma R over R15...please suggest.
Also I would be taking the bike on finance....yamaha people demanding 50k as downpayment...that is another isue.
Diehard fan of R15...also like Karizma R...but its model is outdated.
I want ot go for R15 but do not want to face issues with maintainance after spending 1 lakh for a bike.Last edited by Blumarine005; 12-23-2010, 11:55 PM.
