@all
Why is everybody saying that the p220 is a wild beast?
The best bike would have been the P220!!
Awesome VFM!!
Money saved can be used to buy riding gear. The P220 is NOT that powerful, it takes too long to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph.
And it is just a matter of a month or so to get used to the bike's power, whats required is a sensible rider and the OP says that he has a nice built so he would be able to handle the bike(i am 6ft-58kg, yeah thats pretty lean and i can reassuringly say that weight of the bike is not that much) and during the first month or so the bike would be in "running in" period so no ripping.
P220 has ample grunt all along the rev-range and the best headlights, nice brakes.
I got the P220 as my first bike and today I find it slow, even the baby ninja is not that fast, to be honest.Last edited by FTLutkarsh; 12-18-2010, 02:13 AM.Thats NOT neon glow under my ride you fool, thats cherenkov radiation!!!!!

If you see every fingers as same, you are looking at it wrong. When OP says he has driven Activa max 500kms. He has no idea what motorcycles are capable of. If you were safe, that doesn't mean everyone will be. I know 5 -6 guys, who bought pulsars 220 as their first bike and have faced a nasty accidents. Taking it slow is not bad at all and P220 is not going to vanish tomorrow, if Op wants to upgrade.Originally posted by FTLutkarsh View Post@all

PS: FZ has a very good resale value so whenever OP want's to upgrade he will easily able to do that and as others have said, that can be good starter for him...
My thoughts are subjected to personal experiences/internet articles. Please read my comment carefully before replying. :)

For a young driver like you P220 carb is higher on power side, Fazer is a good choice for you.
You can even try mid-night edition launched by Yamaha looks nice (As poser-bike is one of your criteria)
Just a though: You can get 2008-2009 used R15 in same price range as well (don't pounce on me it's just a though)

Agreed but then spending loads on each and every step is so not good from my point of view, a fazer today, then a p220 tomorrow, and ninja 250r day after tomorrow and then some 600 and then finally the litre class.Originally posted by jigar2speed View PostIf you see every fingers as same, you are looking at it wrong. The initial steps are just too much.
And by the support of xbhp the OP(Sorry i don't remember the username) can seriously learn how to tame it.
I just wanted to say that the p220 is a nice bike and not some wild dragon, it has a softer side too.
MCN said that the ninja 250r is the best beginner bike, but thats for them our road, traffic conditions are totally different but the p220 is a good option for an indian rider.
The biggest reason i support the p220 is the affordability factor and excellent package and some what because i own it and love it.
But if the OP has no problem upgrading then fazer is a good buy.
Sir, don't feel that i am getting mad or trying to offend anybody, i am just expressing my opinion and backing it up.
Cheers!!!

An FZ is much smoother than the P220... The P220 has speed and the thrill of going fast as its selling points... Whereas for the Fazer, the selling point is the smooth feel of the bike, which I believe the TS will enjoy more...
Looking at what type of a rider the TS might eventually become, the Fazer seems perfect.. Go for it dude

The midnight edition is a special paint job edition. Bike is painted in midnight black with golden colored vinyls and also the alloys are also golden colored.
Surely.. looks killer.......
