Yamaha SZ (Disk brake version) ???

You can try to convince him because it Yamaha, the bike is a toned down version of FZ and gives better mileage, btw, she can do good speeds if required...

I just bought my first bike and it was nothing over a 125cc bike. Get him a pulsar 135 if he's a pulsar maniac. It's good for learning on. Is milage a concern? If yes then you might want to reconsider the FZ. GS150r and dazzler are also really good bike. Didd you try the Xbhp bike selector?

I d recomend, either the Pulsar 135 LS or the YAMAHA YBR125 these are Ideal bikes for someone to learn on!

My suggestion is that which ever bike you pick don't cut costs on the brakes. Always buy the disc brake version of the bike! Those front drum brakes are an accident waiting to happen.

Pulsar 135LS or maybe even pulsar 150....
if he is so passionate about pulsars... Why not grant his wish?

Even for a learner, I guess it would take him at most 400kms to get acclimatized to any bike. Just during the learning process, one needs to be careful. I suggest you stop worrying about the bike being for a learner because if you do, then ideally you should go for something as light as a P135LS. All 150CC bikes would feel almost the same.

However, among the choices you mentioned, I think Apache would be the most nimble given its proportions. Even the Unicorn would be an excellent option given its commendable weight centering. I havent ridden the dazzler but given Hinda's history with the Unicorn, that should be good too.

If you're an avid rider, you should take a test ride of these bikes and then decide. And from what I see, P150 UG 4.5 is a VFM machine.

I think I've compounded to your confusion than help. Heh. A key point I'm trying to make is that you'll also need to take into consideration the fact that he'll have to live with the bike for a few years at the least. So give preference to his choices, and keep eliminating the ones after you see their handling - if they need eliminating, that is.

It's better to go for lighter & nimbler machines available in the market.. my suggestion would be P135LS/Honda CB Twister/Yamaha SS125.. these are excellent bikes to start riding with.

Not sure which version is the disc brake version. But I'm glad you're looking at a bike with a front disc at least.

As for power and handling, I'm sure you can't really go wrong with a this bike. But a thing to remember is that the engine will be more commuterish then for example the RTRs or Pulsars. (Perhaps a good thing for a new rider.)
