well guys trying hard to convince my father on a180. its not that his a noob to biking or something.(he used to ride rd350 and RE im told by my relatives).he just wants me to get some thing thatll be reliable. here in goa there are not too many rtr's to be seen. about mileage parameter it is such that ill be given rs.650 per month on fuel. want something that will be fun+cover some distance.

regarding me not considering p220/180... the wise people think that pulsar+young blood=disaster to be happening. cant blame them there are certain maniacs who ride like crazy and the pulsar being the common bike has been given the reputation. cbz is just not happening enough
going through the rtr threads seems like a reliable bike to me. if not tvs than it has to the 'get your cap from the storm' bike...just love it.

in the zma thread people are reporting 40+kmpl. well if thats consistent how bout a zma/r. how much for a well maintained bike. if the difference between a new bike and a zma is 15k that is the same as fueling the bike for around 2 years. that will be worth it i think.

^^ why not consider a YZF-R15? it returns an avg of 40kmpl and its a better performer than ZMA as well!

ps- can i consider the option of a used karizma zma/r. 40 kmpl atleast. will it suite me. dont want a dazzler....
Go for ZMA if you are looking for performance, not zmr. but still, you can trust TVS, many of us have been using TVS bikes for quite a long time now and seriously, not a major issue in hand.

P 180 No offence but that bike suffers a jet/turbo lag same as my diesel car :P

Well many of us are riding Apache are happy(Grinning) with it,and with reliability issues, addyrulz is having the 1st generation Apache with him and he is quite happy with it.Its giving him no trouble.
No machine will give you trouble,if you take care of it
and moreover you said that Apache are rare in your place which maybe a good sign as the re-sale value will be more.
Go and Buy Apache RTR 180,you wont regret it.

will i be able to get a used r15 sub 80k.also how much for a used zma-r. hes not convinced on tvs and i cant live with the other bikes.he agreed to get me either of these 2 bikes provided i keep it for atleast 4years.

also how do you check if a bike has been run in properly to ensure optimal performance and avg

be a rebel Dude there is no sense buying a used vehicle unless a very good deal is available which is hard to find unless you have a relative or a good friend selling. Use the point of Hero Honda parting away and hence it doesnt makes a lot of sense.. Also, HMSI A.S.S is a point of concern in many cities. check yours too. RTR 180 is for you.. tribe calling buddy

neither of these. i'd suggest the Pulsar 180.

u'l get a proper balance of performance and FE.

My advice is not to go for a second hand bike unless you are aware of the bike condition it doesn't have warranty u shouldn't know how much abuses it may have taken, but by going for a new bike atleast u will have a peace of mind and have 2-3 year warranty.
Do u think if a guy buying p220/zma/rtr/r15 will ride like a 100cc bike definitely NO.Play on the saferside

I would suggest you P135LS.. it's a good mix of performance & mileage. Used to get 55+ kmpl in city. Wouldn't shy away from 80+ or 100+ kind of speeds.. to be frank it's more fun @80+ speeds as it's got 4-valve engine.

Since you are a student and dependent on your father i would suggest you to go for Pulsar 135 LS. Suits your needs.

Needless to say all the bikes mentioned by others are very good bikes. But think twice whether those bikes are meeting your requirements!!!!!

                          Go for PULSAR 135 LS.

Apart from Vibes there is no such big prob in Apache 180 ..That been said...FZ & Dazzler will be more reliable and maintenance free in long run

oh man...will the difference in reliability and maintenance be too much. asking cos convincing my father on a180 was a hard shot and i dont want to end up with something thatll be troublesome down 4 years. having second thoughts bout going for a180. should i go for the fz and compromise a bit on power. guess the avg shoul be more or less be the same?
