  • Help in deciding a scooty for my gf.

Hello folks, need some advise in here...
My gf wants to buy a scooty and we are confused big time.. Below are the options and reasons to support or be against them

    1. Scooty Pep : She is crazy over this bike only for the orange color they are offering but doesn't understand my point that its a very light bike and doesnt look a long lasting bike to me atleast.. I feel this bike is not capable of taking Indian road conditions because of its extreme light weight and fibre body.
    Price: 43000 - within budget.

    2. HH Pleasure : A very descent bike with 102 cc and 7 BHP... I found it descent enough for her and rater her over the Scooty pep... I read a couple of reviews on this bike and got most of positive replies, but I also heard people complaining about the starting problems of this bike.. So just wanted a clarification and some suggestions on this bike. Also wanted to know about the spares of the bike and the ASS. Are the spares expensive for Pleasure as well just like Karizma...
Luckily they have Orange color in this

    3. TVS Wego: I found this to be the best of the lot because of a very strong reason.
    a) Full Metal body... so the bike's gonna be strong and even in case of damage, you get the max claim

    b) 7 Free services...
Price: 53000 - out of the budget...
Still, if someone can suggest about the ASS of TVS and the engine refinement...

    3. Honda Activa/Aviator : Out of the option as the wait period is 7 months and If I want it on the spot, the "ON" proce is 15k
The market price of Activa is 65k...

Guys, please help !!!! If you have any other optins within my budget of 50k, do let me know ... Waiting for your expert replies .. thanks in advance..

1: i brought activa in 50k for deluxe version here in varanasi and lucknow the price is same. activa engine is proven and current update makes it better and combi brakes is a good option and safe too. but front suspension sucks.
2: wego is a new kid on the block but still its a good bet i dont know the price but it looks girlish unlike activa which both gender can drive, but it is a slight better than activa.
3: tvs scooty u can consider but i dont see any +ve other than looks to go for this set of wheels
4: forget aviator its too costly but cost is justified.
5: rodeo is also good with extra punch but cant comment on reliability.
6: pleasure other than cost no point of buying has old activa engine of 102cc.

in the end i would suggest for wego or activa but activa will be the bike i will lean on more coz its proven and versatile.
speed thrills but kills if you dont have skills

I would suggest HH Pleasure over all other scooters. Starting problem is b'cos some girls don't even know how to operate choke in the morning, they just keep pressing start button.

          lol...
mostly have thought booking that only.. Just waiting to decide the color as the only Authorised HH showroom or a sub dealer which has the bike for display is Fort Point at Virar and Mahim.. So will have to check it out and then decide...
Can anybody help me in comparing TVS Wego and Pleasure as Wego is also a good option...

HH Pleasure is the best option......

But Scooty pep will be a better option as the light weight is + Point for Girls....

As at times you find girls struggling to park the bike on middle stand in parking areas.......

              Pleasure/Activa/Aviator.

Don't worry about high initial investment in Activa/Aviator. It will be set off when you sale the bike. Just check the used bike's pricings on Sulekha etc, and you will see the magic of Honda/HH tag. Even access is good.

I would suggest only Access/Aviator. If your gf is short, then Access, if above 5'2", then aviator. Because these bikes have telescopic shock absorbers. You need to get over some big potholes while on Activa and Aviator, to see the difference!

Mahindra has ruined the beauty that was Flyte, so I would advice against that, and also Rodeo/Duro. Also, 53k Wego doesn't make sense over 50k Aviator, especially when you consider the resale value after 5 years. The free servicings are saving hardly 150/200rs each time, don't let it be your decision criteria. BTW Honda provides added 2 years warranty for some 650rs additional.

DISCLAIMER: Above are my opinions only. Please test ride first.

@psycho_omkar: I will suggest one thing, just go and book honda activa + honda aviator + suzuki access for ~500rs/1k each, with surity that you will not be subjected to cancellation charges. Then you can take your sweet time to test ride and finalize. Even if you buy scooty then, you can always cancel the booking and get full money back. But if you decide to buy any one of these 3, then your waiting period is reduced!

These bikes alone have big waiting periods like 3-6 months. Rest all are available off the shelf/15 days waiting. An initial investment of max 3k will save a couple of months from your total waiting.

BTW Aviator too is available in orange, and the orange is like Maruti Swift orange. It's not candy orange like GS150, and certainly not the fluroscent orange like Apache. It is more like a brick orange, and looks very decent.

EDIT: Additionally, go to a new dealer who has recently started business. Old established will have their own dusted waiting list to clear first. I got Aviator in 15 days only, when ongoing waiting period is 3 months, and some were not even taking booking for orange & blue color because of huge backlog! A new dealer will have comparatively lesser backlog, thus ensuring faster delivery.

Why not Flyte? My friend's dad is using this for past two years..must say that absolutely no nonsense machine, smooth ride, got good power & pickup.. reasonable mileage.. 35-40kmpl.

vrugonnab: Even my friend is using Flyte for more than 3 years. The Flytes that came from SYM Kinetic were good. But somehow, if you see reviews of latest Flytes, the owners are not happy. Also, useful feature like lamp in the dicky are now disabled to make way for Rodeo. That's why I said Mahindra has ruined Flyte.
