Then you can take your sweet time to test ride and finalize. Even if you buy scooty then, you can always cancel the booking and get full money back. But if you decide to buy any one of these 3, then your waiting period is reduced!

These bikes alone have big waiting periods like 3-6 months. Rest all are available off the shelf/15 days waiting. An initial investment of max 3k will save a couple of months from your total waiting.

BTW Aviator too is available in orange, and the orange is like Maruti Swift orange. It's not candy orange like GS150, and certainly not the fluroscent orange like Apache. It is more like a brick orange, and looks very decent.

EDIT: Additionally, go to a new dealer who has recently started business. Old established will have their own dusted waiting list to clear first. I got Aviator in 15 days only, when ongoing waiting period is 3 months, and some were not even taking booking for orange & blue color because of huge backlog! A new dealer will have comparatively lesser backlog, thus ensuring faster delivery.
makes sense.. Let me check out with the dealers if there are any cancellation charges.. Thanks

Check out the rodeo, Its a amazing unisex scooter which gives a different experience, it takes bad roads, touring with ease. and mahindra servicing and spares are cheaper than Honda and servicing TVS fellows are useless, they dont know difference between different brands of oil.

Looks like all of Mahindra scooters barring the Kine i.e. Rodeo, Duro and Flyte use the same 124.6 cc engine which produces 8 Bhp power and 9 Nm torque.

I'm sure all of these are good performers. The Duro appears to be a more decent package in terms of looks.

If you decide to go for a Mahindra scooter at all then do consider the Duro.

Otherwise, both the Suzuki Access 125 and Honda Activa are fine scooters but as someone pointed out correctly, they would have a long waiting period.

Don't bother with the TVS Scooty unless your girlfriend doesn't want to handle slightly heavier scooters like the Activa or Access.
Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

Taking test ride is important. Though don't forget its even more important to let your GF test ride them after all its for her. Girls prefer those small scooty for a good reason .

That's why I said Mahindra has ruined Flyte.
This is news to me. My sister owns a Flyte (The Kinetic one) and is extremely pleased with it. There were a few initial niggles, that were sorted out. I do take it out, whenever I feel like having a relaxed ride. The power and pickup is good. On par with my Discover. Of course both have the same cc.

Thanks everyone for all the valuable inputs... It has indeed been a big help in making my decision...
We took a test ride and finally zeroed down on HERO HONDA PLEASURE
I was not too keen on any Mahindra scooter... Wasn't keen on getting an Activa/Aviator due to its waiting period/exorbitant "ON" price....
Booked Red Black color and there is a wait period of 1 month. The price of the bike is 48,800 including all the accessories...However the dealer informed me that the price might increase either by Rs 800, 1000 or 1500 or NIL... Will be confirming that today..
But Thanks all of you guys for putting down your suggestions and helping me out...

One suggestoin: Don't buy any accessory from them, and you will save further 1-1.5k rs. See comparison:

Accessory | dealer price | Open market price
                  Metal guard | 1500-2000 | max 900 + 100 fitting charges
                  foot rest | 500 | 250 + 50 fitting charges
                  Beeper | 80 | 30 + 10 fitting

As you can see, all prices are marked up by 100%!

Thanks for the info mate.. The price that FortPoint quoted i.e. 48,800 is inclusive of all the accessories.. I ll check with them what is the discount that they will offer if I do not want any accessory and then will take a call to decided whether I should go for the accessories or no....
                    But Thanks a lot ...
