  • My first bike

    Hello guys,

First of all, you guys are doing a great job by having a forum like this and helping a newbie like me. So thank you very much to you all.

I am going to buy my first bike. I need some suggestions on my first buy. First let me tell me about myself. I am 22 years old. Completely new to bikes (Have ridden Honda Activa though). I am 6 ft tall, 75 kgs. I am going to use the bike on 100% city conditions (CHENNAI).

When i began to search for the bike, i first went through the previous posts of xbhp forum and shortlisted my list. Now i have only two bikes in my list.

Apache RTR 160 and Bajaj Pulsar 150 Dts- i

*** FZ and FAZER is out of list since, it will be uncomfortable for my mom to sit with me.

*** Honda unicorn - I like this bike very much, but waiting time is too long here.

So guys, please help me out from dilemma and remember i literally have zero biking experience. So suggest me either any of the two bikes or if you feel any other good bikes. My budget is any where below Rs. 90000

    Please help me out.

Looking at your shortlisted choices i believe mileage is a concern...
if so you may add HH Hunk to your list, but trust me wait for Unicorn. It will be worth it.
if mileage is not a concern you may look at Karizma-R and p180 too...

Thanks. Yes mileage is a concern. but not a big one. I will be more than happy if i get anywhere between 35-45. I haven't had HH Hunk in my mind. So definitely i will have a look at it. Once again, thanks for the suggestion buddy.

But would you think, P-180 is a bit overdue for me, especially with my (almost zero) biking experience??

Since mileage is not a concern
I advice you to take your eyes to either the Karizma-r and P180.
Since your height is 6ft, apache looks too short on you.
HH Hunk and CBZ Xtreme are good machine to do commuting,
Think about that did you want power in your bike or not after you got little bit of experience of riding bikes.
Pick up a ride and rewrite yourself to a new Identity.....

best will be dazzler and hunk if u r a commuter. if a lil more powerful then zma-r. if u r a performance guy then rtr 180.

I dont think p180 or a180 will be too powerful for a learner(i learnt riding on a p180). Just take care for first 2 months.
P.s. A180 will feel tiny if you are 6ft tall TD before making a decision

Thanks all. I like the unicorn very much, but the new dazzler doesnt impress me much. GS-150R, definitely a good bike. But still not as eyecatchy as the pulsars or apaches. So i think i have made up my mind to go for P-180 unless otherwise any suprise happens.

Be sure to Test Drive both bikes before making a decision....

                              Hi There,
I am also planning a new P-180 which will be my first fully owned bike. I am saving funds for now. Which color r u going for ? I will be taking one of Blue or Red.
