aftersales ...
What the above people say about aftersales and service is in a way true. But if you are willing to take that difficulty, you can put that Ducati back on your options list

Fireblade is not rossi's bike , i think you meant r1.. and now its ducati .. heheOriginally posted by The_Lone_Rider View PostSpares and Aftersales will be a bit of concern for you if you go with the Ducati.
Moreover, Fireblade is MotoGP god Rossi's bike. R1 on the other hand, has a handsome number of users in India so aftersales concern should be least with R1.
P.S:- I'm not a very experienced Biker, i just booked my first bike (1 hour ago) Honda Stunner. I'm telling you from a logical and economical perspective.
okay , how are ducatis ? are they nice to live with etc ? i am so so spoilt by blade that even in my dreams i sometimes ride (glide) on the blade.
the other day my brother was saying that the only good thing about r1 is that it can keep up with blade so that he can appreciate the blade from all different angles on the road..
May the torque be with you..

I think yamaha should keep a cooling pack or something for thighs as a standard accessory for r1... trust me, they will sell like 'hot' cakes !!May the torque be with you..

I am no super bike rider and my only claim to fame is riding an R1 the entire stretch of Cubbon Rd in B'lore once. And I must tell you the sheer accelaration of the R1 is something to be expeirennced and the riding position was super aggressive. If your heart is set on it go for it.Originally posted by windy_torque View Postfinally a superbike(s) owner, fireblah, replying in my thread.

And from what Ive read and heard the Firblade is suposed to be sweet handler and a very forgiving machine. And the Ducati well what can I say. It s througbred Itlain Stallion and yea well thats what it is.
If I were in your shoes I too would be really stuck between the R1 and Ducati. And prolly go for the R1 as an YAMAHA loayalist but add the Aprilia RSV4 factory to the mix and that d confuse the hell out of me.
Well Bike India had featured a very nice shootout between the TRIUMPH 675 DAYTONA,YAMAHA YZF-R1, KTM KTM RC8R and the RSV4 factory in August or July 2009 IIRC.Try and get a hold of that article. I too tried to search for it online and here it is http://www.bikeindia.in/index.php?op...tout&Itemid=62 and also a comprehensive roadtest of the fireblade sometime later and I can't seem to find that article..will post link later if i manage to find it!

I agree with Yamahatrooper that if you've got your heart into it then don't look beyond the R1.Originally posted by windy_torque View Postfinally a superbike(s) owner, fireblah, replying in my thread.

If your more into Ducati (Like me
) then 848 is your answer.
however in motorcycles there is no comparison to a Honda product, the shear engineering and quality level that you get from Honda, you won't get it anywhere else in the same price. you want the best - Honda is your answer.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Both are great bikes. Both go very fast. Too fast for comfort. I have ridden both.
R1 feels wild, as usual. Handles like a dream. And one has to be really on one's toes all the time to stay focussed to ride this thing.
The Blade feels like a Honda, smooth as usual. And feels really compact, almost like a 600. Really easy to ride.
You can buy either. You will be satisified with either! The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Since all are great Bikes and you dont hate any in particular and you are confused,id suggest you choose based on Reliability,Comfort and After Sales Service.Smoke rubber, not tobacco.
