hey windy why not cosider buying the aprilia....
you know what, just a suggestion, i think you should wait for some more time. because the bmw s1000rr ought to be launched pretty soon now. its 2010's best superbike award holder. i am telling you it would be worth the wait... but if you are in a hurry, go for the blade.

my dear bro i just want to ask a simple q .....have u ever ridden any liter class bike.......if no then first try any of the two [r1 &blade ] as both have a heavy ingine, heavy in mean of weight n c.c power ,,r1 gets heat near abt 110 dg in this condition means to say in summer not a easy task to ride in city ,and same is abt blade to get rid of heating problem you have to ride it in winter or ride it over 100 km /hour but ducati have a smaller engine with best seating position it dosent kills ur wrists n back so acc to my knowledge if u want to ride a best bike then go for ducati as it have all the tastes

Weight factor is true, but otherwise Ducati's have had their share of criticism when it comes to practicality. They have forward and lower handlebars. They can't even ride at 30-40 kmph in 2nd gear without snitching, meaning you'll have to change gears all the time to stay in power.
V-Twins are good at torque, but we're not talking low end torque (not generalising, just talking in terms of 848 Evo).
Take it only if you'll ride it on weekends on open roads or on racetracks only.

@ windy torque: Go with the experts. Take the Blade... I have heard and read a lot about this bike's brilliance, on road and track. Another close alternative you may consider is Suzuki GSX 1000R.

same here w_t. I too do not like Aprillia or BMW design. However I would prefer a BMW or an Aprilia over a Ducati any day. No offences to any Duc lover but it just does not appeal. As someone said in this forum, choosing a bike is like choosing a bike. One type may not suit all.

I am fan of Japs. I too will be buying a litre blast in a week or two and was facing similar dilemma. But then found out that R1 is damm hot, literally. Ducati failed to impress. And Blade won my heart. It just grew on me gradually.

So just waiting for the Blade to come home
But then my new dilemma is between 2010, 2011 model, or should one wait for 2012 model
but whatever the case Blade is the num,ber one for me. So congrats on finalising it. See you on Blade, as may be : D

I dont know if u have still decided on your bike but the BMW S1000R has won my heart to be the best liter class bike and second would be the Honda CBR 1000RR.

All these bikes have around 180 horse beneath your arse to propel , so all these would the do the Job more or less the same way in taking your from 0 to Go_Straight_to_Jail speed.

So its all your personal preference that adds up here, I would suggest something like the FZ1 or Ducati street machines, coz practically they make more sense.

                            This one may help,

guys...... the latest r1 has outrun all its competitors. its a fact. the new r1 has the top speed of over 340km/hr and is quicker too. and of cos the after sale service is not a concern. if u had checked the reviews from the experts you would have known that according to them this beast made the fireblade look like a 600 cc. it also looks amazing... so according to me r1 is the best in the class. so i'd suggest it only.
