Let me also let you know my previous bikes right from school.
My dad used to have kinetic honda so it was my initial 2 wheeler.
I got impressed by my friends YBX & purchased a YBX 99 model & i was really happy with it & had great performance & power to weigh ratio was excellent with mileage of 45. I think you know why they still use YBX in tracks due to its performance.
I then bought a rx135 4 speed & it got excellent pickup & i learnt how to extract mileage from it & i got 45pl but still did not like the vibes & riching out while riping it in full rpm & got back aches when ridden like 80+ kms a day which would include city & highways.
Wanted a bike with good avg & comfort. Test rode 1st gen unicorn & i really love its pickup & bought it.
I got a 2nd gen uni in 2007 starting which had no pickup at all but excellent mileage & it used to give me 65-70 in city + highway commuting & 54-58 in city but even after run in period i did not get pickup as i wanted.
SO started screwing it up by riding in high rpms. The funny part is that in 4th gear it goes to 100 & in 5 th gear too it does not cross 105 & refuses to go further. It also used to give a lot of engine knocking when heated in city traffic in 1st gear itself. I got frustrated in one time then after changed to xtreme cam & got satisfied with it & made till 22k kms.
After which when i started to earn a made a big blunder of putting a big piston(63.5mm piston) for torque which ruined up the whole engine.
I rebored it & reset the crank still its not good & starts smooking after 5k kms. Now found the culprit was faulty crank assembly. I am really frustrated of spending money on it as the results does not last. I tried my best to restore it as i love my uni a lot. Now decided to buy a new bike at last. https://picasaweb.google.com/1050991...Kaej9PSjsvXRg#
I am really confused between ZMA & R15
I am 5 11" weighing 70kg
My requirements are
- Good comfort & suspension for short long rides(Not more than 100kms)
Know ZMA is known for its comfort like unicorn but will i get used to R15's posture ? Heard some saying once we get used to it its really comfortable.
- Mileage of 40-45 when ridden carefully & big no for mileage below 35 even when ridden constant at 90-100 & mostly i wont cross 100(95%) but if required should not hesitate to go further like 120-130 ( Heard R15 giving better mileage)
- I dont like 4stroke's engine rattling noise at high rpms or at high speeds after 20,000 kms or after engine getting hot in humid summer in chennai.
Does R15 score better in this aspect due to liquid cooling.
- Which has good engine life? Know that ZMA would last long for its low reving engine but how is technically advanced R15( I think old r15 users might answer this better)
- I dont mind of higher price tag of r15 but i want to make this change as final & want the bike to last for years & engine should be strong enough to sustain for tough high rpm gear shifts at times which i know is stressful for the crank.
- I mostly work in night shifts now & travel 15 kms where there wont be much traffic.
- But i may ride 80+ kms alternate days on highways & i am also concerned about my back. If you all say i can get used to r15's seating, i would go for that & i have planned to remove the whole front faring of it if i find it bulky to cut through city traffic as i dont mind look. SO is R15 flick-able in city if we remove the whole faring?
Waiting for your replies & sorry for wring SA
