  • P220 or Avenger220 or Fazer

I have been riding a P180 for about 4 and a half years and almost bored of it and now it feels stressed when going for some highway rides and also towards my college , my college is around 20 kms away and its constant uphill and downhill slopes and also one thing , in jabalpur (my city) the roads are full of potholes now a days , and everywhere its nasty situation on road . I decided to change the bike and i will buy it in a matter of some days so i need some suggestions from you guys about my requirements .

The requirements are listed below :

    1) The bike should be capable of doing 80-90kmph constant without any stress or vibration .
2)The bike's shouldnt get noisy when heated up . my pulsar becomes a noisy machine when its heated up no matter what i do .
3)The bike's suspensions must be good and the roads full of potholes shoudnt cause much body ache lol .
    4)Milage isnt a problem i will manage :P .
5)The COmfort level should be high , like , i go for some long rides sometimes and every part of my body aches in pulsar . i dont want that to happen lol .

The bikes i shortlisted are p220 , avenger220 , and fazer , but you people can suggest any bike you want which is under 90K

    remember : budget : 90000/-

    Thank You

Pick a Fazer and you will get all you want, + a tiny smile whenever you encounter a corner on your Fazer.

If all your wishes are granted below 153CC then why going for a 220+CC and I bet the Fazer would be more efficient in all aspects.

Many may point fingers on P220 and ZMA, but you got to understand Fazer is a newly designed machine and much more refined than both. While P220 and ZMA still remain traditional.

Its always wise to catchup with the latest innovative design and stay ahead.

Go with P220S or Karizma.. I wouldn't even consider Fazer since you are already riding a 180cc.. it would be kind of downgrade for you from the kind of performance you are used to. The kind of terrain you are talking about, it's always better to have extra power on tap.

about the ZMA ... i didn't think about it because i guess it will be discontinued in sometime because of the release of ZMR , and if it happens , wont the spare parts be difficult to get ? and the spares of hero honda are still costly .. i heared that the disc pads cost over 1000 bux lol .. but well , its a good tourer i think , i will consider it as an option and test ride a new one ..

I like fazer , i just have some worries about it , i saw some people telling that fazer's acceleration is low and the bike struggles to reach even 100 in uphill or with pillion rider .. if that's true then i will have to phase out fazer .. can someone confirm me with that ? .. and as i already ride a 180 and find it underpowered , will the fazer be of any advantage ? ..

any owner or rider tell me about the acceleration of fazer ...

              Hi,

I guess P220 or ZMA-R will suffice your requirements.
I cant comment on Fazer as i havent rode one.
Regardless of being called "Traditional Bikes".. these bikes can beat Fazer in every term including mileage and comfort level plus you wont feel downgraded after driving a P180

              Cheers

Go for ZMA...it will suit you very good...and easily cruise at 100 kmph...eat potholes like no other bike can do...is most comfortable & next only to ZMR..

I dont think a Fazer will cruise at 80-90 without any stress, this bike suffers topend very badly!

Fazer's and Fz's rear tire starts giving problem earlier. Rear Ownership Thread for the same, many had posted about this.

Fazer much more refined than a ZMA? I dont think so.

This shows that you are a hard fan of YAMAHA!

Bro what ever you say,a 150cc bike is not the best for cruising at 90km/h+ continuously.I would say get a ZMA or P220,I have a ZMA,I know how it feels when i rides it at 100 or 120km/h and the difference between a 150cc bike going at 100 and 223cc bike going at 100km/h.

No offence to anyone,Just my thoughts.

It wont be discontinued,One of the best product from HH and Proved to be the best tourer bike in india and have been serving tourers for more than 8years and still going on very strong. Yes the spares are costly, even the discontinued old model cbz's spares are still available in the HH Spares.

+1^^^ Comfort you wont get it from all bikes.

So if you need raw power get the P220,If you need more refinement and relaxed tourer, get the ZMA.

If u really like Pulsars then wait for the new Pulsars to be released rather than buying the 220 right now as i am sure u can be wih ur P180 for a few more months.
the Avenger is super comfy though the Pulsar doesn't lack it.
i ride around 70 kms daily now on my P220 and no issues of lack of comfort and it is really handy when it comes to dodging heavy city traffic.( In Mumbai it is really really bad ).
The Fazer is comfortable but feels hopelessly underpowered compared the 220 and brakes( i think my friend's bike was a problem as the FZ seemed fine ) weren't really good.

yeah so i guess i will have to phase out the fazer as it is underpowered . i also took a ride of Fz16 once , i felt it was having some difficulty overtaking other vehicles . i thought it was the faulty piece , but i think that was its normal behaviour .

about the leftover bikes , i think ZMA and P220 will be good , and what about the Avenger 220 guyz , i like the avy , also comment on it , though i am worried about the detuned engine frm P220 , does it have the power to do what the avenger is meant for ... i mean does it cruise effortlessly at 80-100 kmph ... ? is it smooth at that speed .. ? .. ..
I asked my mechanic about P220 , he says the fairing tends to vibrate after some days and its too difficult to fix it , is that true mates

Even the Avenger 180 cruises well at that speed no doubt the 220 will.
And it is detuned only to 19bhp so it is still more powerful than karizma and though its topspeed may not be as good as karizma or P220 it is really comfortable and accelaration to the speed u wanna ride is surely gonna be good.
Fairing of the 220 between 4.5-5.5K makes an irritating noise but that's it.
And the bike is totally stable till at least the maximum i have taken it till now i.e. 144kmph.
and it doesn't start giving irritating vibrations, which are found in RTR, till at aleast 125-130kmph.
80-120kmph in my opinion is the best on P220.

Rightly said 220 dtsi is very stable even at the speeds above 130.

I think you are a bit mixed up. The Fazer and P220 belong to the same broad class of bikes while the Avenger is from a different class altogether.

I agree with the others; downgrading to a 153cc after a 180cc will cause heartburn. Since you have no petrol cost issues, why downgrade?

I am surprised that your body aches on a P180. Be aware, the Avenger is not as comfy as it looks:: the front suspension is okay but the rear is just too hard even on the minimum preload settings. It comes comfy only if a) you weigh about 90 odd kgs or b) you have a pillion onboard. The gear lever and rear brake lever position is an ergonomic disaster; obviously, the team members who designed this bike never rode bikes for any decent distances/times themselves.

In my opinion, you could get a P220 now, if you are in a hurry or wait for the P250/new P220/P300 as is rumoured at a later date.

My body aches because my P180 is old , its suspensions are old and worn out . and my bike starts to vibrate when it is heated up .. and if you visit jabalpur , check the roads here , you wont find even a patch of road without potholes .. I will test ride the avenger and check .. and will keep the things in mind .. thnx i guess i will have to look for P220 ownership thread now ... lol
