  • Which bike should i buy??

    Hello fellow xbhpers.....

I am planning on buying a new bike, but am thoroughly confused.

I had a unicorn for the last 7 years and want a change for the better

    I am 6" and weigh 95kgs
    I have the following requirements:

    The bike should:-

    have a nice riding stance
should give a good overall riding experience
    give a decent economy(30-50)
should not cause much pain while riding(riding posture should be good)
    have good after sales service
    should not require frequent maintenance
i dont care about the pillion(they can feel whatever they want)
mostly city riding and not much touring
daily riding will be a minimum of 40-kms

havent thought about the budget, that is secondary for me

and also nothing much about the bike too.

so any help would be very helpful

PS-should not be in the likes of platina/dawn/discover etc

Go for the RE Thunderbird, looks best for you.
Even though normally people buy it for touring and stuff, even for city riding it is really comfortable and if ridden properly, gives u good efficiency.
And budget being "secondary" for you, u could even buy a Harley :P

        budget

thats true but saying that budget is not that big a deal because, I will be taking finance anyways, so anything from 50k to 200k is manageable, but need to really like the bike.

And yes, thunderbird is an option.

i will either go for a cruiser kinda bike or a sports kinda bike.

so options in both the categories would help me in making a better decision.

Also, i dont know much, but how would avenger compare with thunderbird?

choose between ZMA-R/ZMR..both will suit your requirement..

Even RTR & R15 are good options but as per your weight & height i think they'll look a bit odd & also you won't be much comfortable while sitting on them.
          Suzuki Gixxer - Current
          Karizma ZMR <3 - Sold
          Apache RTR160 - Sold
          Honda Stunner - Sold
          LML Energy - Sold

choose between Bullet & ZMR.... They are big bikes suitable for your physical appearance..

If 200K is manageable CBR 250 would be a really good option.

Avenger is extremely comfy but an RE is an RE.
But any day maintenance wise, an RE is going to take more of your time but they aren't as bad as before, actually quite good.
And if u plan to keep ur bike for a long time, RE makes more sense.

u could wait for the new Pulsars to be launched as for sure they would be fast and i have a 220 and it is comfy.

I think you should go for the Royal Enfield. I am a few kilos too less to buy that one

                6'1" and 75
                Hero Honda Karizma ZMR

The speedometer is the most useless gadget on a bike.

R15, RTR and Pulsars are all off limits for us because of our height.

Go for ZMR, CBR, Avenger or still better RE

cheap and best bike would be zma, RE CBR nd all will be pretty expensive and personally i don't like the zmr but that depends on you too

Test drive the Karizma R and P220. Both suit your requirements.
Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

Thanx for such good suggestions guys, I really appreciate it.

But i have test-driven all the bikes that you have suggested.

I dont feel comfortable with avenger due to its foot-rest.

RTR is out of the question due to its small size.

the bottomline is that i want a bike with sports look and also with racing stance.

But the question is will the R15 v2.0 or p22S look small with me or will it be ok?

I had also thought about cbr but in the ownership experiences, got only negetive reviews

                        So, wat should i do??/

Hey am confused between the cbr 250 and the ninja 250 or the r15 I mean the class of these three basically helps you understand what I'm basically looking for but now I need an expert advice on which one should would be the best for keeps. As I had a p220 and now was using my friend's R15 for 4 months now but ..... Well I guess an honest opinion from the experienced xBHPians would be really helpful.

New r15 V2 ownership experiences and ride reports are yet to come so can't comment on it...

If you are indeed looking for touring purpose then i feel CBR will suit you just fine. although i would suggest wait for 3 -4 months by then Honda would have taken care of small niggling issues with the bike which seemed to have been cropping up in the CBR ownership thread..

Ninja 250R is a different animal altogether but whether you are willing to spend 3 lakhs is another issue. From my experience if money is no problem then this bike can be used on daily basis in traffic and one can go crazy when you want that one day to rev the nuts off the engine!!

                            Cheers

Thanks a lot for that info ..... Real good to hear about that but then again you're right ...... I guess its just me but I would prefer safe long rides when compared to superfast ones but at the same time love to do a little touchups on the bike to push the limits and I've heard a lot about the touring capabilities of the CBR .... Guess that's the one then .... And yeah did see the squeeks happening with the CBR .... Guess I must wait then ..... Thanks a lot once again ....
