Hello sir , I am new to this website , I am nitn from lucknow, I am 23 years old , 5'6, 69 kg preparing for mba exams. So after riding lml nv for almost 4 years , I convinced my dad to get a bike for me this Diwali .

So in bike I want these things

1.)Mileage of 40 - 45 - 50 - 55- 60 is Ok for me.

2.) Tubeless tyres in front and rear. Since my dad said bikes doesn't carry extra tyre , so if it got puncture that I have to pull it like hell. So tubless tyres should be must.

3.)Modern/sporty look. obviously all bikes of today have got this. so nothing to worry about here.

4.) I am not racing freak.However I do ride fast sometimes with scooter.

Below are bikes which I have shortlisted--->

1.) RTR 160 FI / RTR 180 ABS

(Tell me if there is any difference between RTR 160 and RTR 160 FI)

2.) CBZ xtreme

3.)Pulsar 135/180/150 .I am not interested in Pulsars , since it has become very common nowadays.

4.) Bajaj Discover 150.

One important question is about disc brakes.
I am bit feared of having disc brakes in rear . Because people told me for rear tyre Drum brakes are ok. Disc brakes are bit dangerous for rear.
Is this true??

Also tell me about having a bike with tubeless tyre and with general alloy ones.

Guys please give your views....This Diwali I want something !! I am tired of that old lml nv scooter lol

nice to see another lucknowite here.
difference between rtr160 and 160fi is nothing but addition of fuel injection in place of carb on the later. with the fi version you'll get better response and improved fuel efficiency and slightly increase in power.

rear drum brakes are ok but rear disc brakes are better. dont know who told you that disc on rear is dangerous, there is nothing like that and they are better anyday once you get used to it.

tubeless tyres are also very good over tubed tyres. in tubeless tyres there is no tube between tyre and rim so the air is trapped between tyre and rim itself in tubeless tyres. the good point is that these tyres dont get punctured very easily(apart from soft compound) and secondly that even if it got punctured and u didnt get the nail out, the tyre will leak air slowly so u can ride till the next puncture shop. BTW u can also repair the puncture by yourself, its a simple DIY.

in the end ill say go for the new CBZ-Xtreme dual disc retailing at 76,001rs in sun motors, indiranagar.
BTW why didnt u consider FZ-16/S?

If you want performance and money is not an issue, I recommend R15 v2.0 (but you may have to wait for some days to get the delivery)

If you want an economical bike with good performance, you can consider the Suzuki GS150R, TVS Apache RTR 160 / 180, Yamaha SZX/SZR, Honda Dazzler.

If you want decent performance and good fuel efficiency, consider the Pulsar 135/150.

If you want fuel economy, consider the Discover 150.

As it seems these 2 bikes are your topmost fav. get some test drive (preferably on a friend's bike do check sitting/handling/vibs/cornering/bracking etc ).. coz at the end of the day it Ai'nt just looks or features that counts its the overall package that matters.. so get a complete exp of the same.

2.) CBZ xtreme
I wont b biased as i own one . M pretty happy eith the ride.Would tell u pro's/ con's :
Pros :
* One of d best Engines available (Though pretty old tech/figures)
* Split Seat
* One of d best digital console (Alonge with Apache) Aren't u bored from looking those ORANGE meters everywhere (be it Baja,HH,Honda,yamaha ...)
*Superb Handling (Ride it, Feel It)
*Low on maintainence ( Not even 1 rs spend so far ) ~ 3000 km's


Cons :
* Slightly odd looking Headlight (I feel so, previous was awesome )
* slightly behind pulsar in power
* No engine kill switch (Dont know why they dont put it on HH/honda bikes )
*Slightly overweight (149 Kgs) but its heavy on papers and when fallen
once u cross 10-15 Kmph it would b such an easy handling rides


3.)Pulsar 135/180/150 .I am not interested in Pulsars , since it has become very common nowadays.

Even i think so , but they are'nt that bad either.if u r low on maintainence, its as good as a badly maintained HH/Honda/Yamaha (Which is GOOD if not the best). Afterall they have got most of the topline features. But still not of my choice


4.) Bajaj Discover 150.
naaaaaaaaaaaaaaah,no looks/not even power to match that CC thing,strictly NOOOOO

In the end best way to choose ur perfect ride is to have a test drive and check if sittin comfort/handling/weight/power is according to u or not... Just dont go by the LOOKS / Name of the company...

suzuki GS150R is not available here as there is no dealer/service center in lucknow, so for service he have to go to kanpur (100kms approx).
