In 2011, there are no bad bikes manufactured and sold in India.. just that some bikes sell well without much effort and some not in that great numbers.

Eg: The not so hot selling Suzuki Slingshot and Yamaha SS125 are by no means bad products.

Thanks to the quality concious Indian consumer we do not get "use & throw" kind of stuff, not in motorcycles.

If you like a model, just go for it.

Dazzler Is definitely overpriced as I think.

Of course the engine is a gem, but it's just too mellowed down. It doesn't excite me. (mind you I have ridden dazzler and uni extensively) IMHO they are overgrown HH Splendors. I have immense respect for these bikes. When it comes to being a just commuter steeds, they are the best. It's just that they lack the X-factor, the fun part, which we admire at xbhp. It's Honda's ( and HH's as well) please-all strategy gets on my nerves. All three new launches are hardcore commuter bikes. I've tested them thoroughly when I participated in an in city rally arranged by HMSI.

Only two bikes, made by HH, were for enthusiasts, original CBZ and Zma.

Also don't wait for Impulse, It has got same Unicorn engine with just 13 bhp. reviewers say, it isn't fun at all, in fact almost opposite to what it looks like. Also It's taller and seat is not as soft as other bikes. Your dad might not be comfortable riding it.

Anyway, I think for a college going guy, looking for good efficiency with some fun quotient, I would strongly recommend Pulsar 135. Very capable engine, good looks, good chassis, light weight, good FE, better flick-ability than Uni/Dazzie in traffic.
It should serve you well as first bike. Also the spares are cheaper.

The other bike I would recommend is RTR 160/180. Second best handling bike, next to R15 only.

Dazzler suits your needs bro..I'm also a college student, and as i can see now, mileage is what you'll need for daily commuting ..
As far as I see it, we are not gonna be hardcore tourers like most of the riders here at xBhp(even though I wish i was! ) ..mostly we're gonna look at our bike and see whether it has enough fuel in it to get us to college, right? Also, your dad would want a hassle free bike right..?My Dazzler-friend fills his bike with Rs.50 of petrol(Rs.70 per litre-Coimbatore,TamilNadu) daily for covering 13kms to college. Also being a 150cc Honda , it will suit your weekend getaways(monoshocks, comfy upright ride position)..
Looks are subjective, if you're still not satisfied with Dazzler's looks , go for the Suzuki GS150..again a nice bike with good mileage and power.

          to everyone,
thanks a lot for advices!!--it took some time to get this thread approved.

Most of u hav misunderstood,Looks aren't important to me if other things make up for it.

My main concern was that the product isn't selling that well so would i have any long term issues regarding its spare parts and service?

Suzuki GS150s parts are hard to come by.

I suggested P135 as many parts are shared with Pulsar and Discover.

very lightweight bike and for performance and reliability, check following thread
