I haven't seen CBR much but I saw it in a showroom in Delhi and found it to be pretty well finished. I liked it. What might be the case is how the parts withstand when the bike is used on a day to day basis. This is where issues might be cropping up in overall fit and finish. But again, the CBR owners can comment much better on this. But I believe that CBR is as good as any other motorcycle right out of the showroom.

Moreover, we can count on Honda to take care of this. After all, they are known for their quality and they would want to keep this image. Probably in an year's time, different body parts of CBR will be more durable to withstand the everyday usage and Indian weather conditions.

    I still believe it's a worthy purchase

that's also subjective..though i liked R15 2.0's tail but if i would have to chose between CBR250 & R15 V2.0 then this version's up-gradation has nothing which can attract me to go for it over CBR250R..even when R15 got few welcome changes.

              Need to make a decision

ok so i got a nice test ride of the new r15 and i must say that it feels a lot more eager through the lower RPMs vis a vis the old r15.

The quality of plastics and the general build quality also is leagues ahead of the honda. Plus to add to that the bike handles really well, not that I felt that the CBR doesn't but there's only so much a diamond frame can do.

But i can't seem to make up my mind, should i ignore everything and just go for Honda for its larger more relaxed engine, or should i get an r15 V2.0 and get it joelled on due time but i am also wary of going back to 150 cc segment.

It depends on what you want to do with your bike. If you love riding hard, cornering; go blindly for the R15. There's nothing as agile, as nimble, as easy, as forgiving as the R15 in India at present.
And final advice, stand near both the bikes back to back, get a feel of both of them. See the seating position and then decide. The choice is all yours. Just my 2 cents.

                  Hi Anhil,

I was in same dilemma. But after taking the test ride of R15 I decided to wait. I didn't like the aggressive posture, will hurt in the long run. CBR250 is good in every aspect except few quality issue in the past, I hope Honda has addressed those alreday in the coming batches but considering those issues still Yamaha scores better than Honda in terms of quality & that was -ve aspect for me since I thought it was not reliable...
I suggest either go with CBR250 (Joel will be introducing goodies for CBR250 soon) or wait till auto expo. I choose the 2nd option...

I do not know much about R15. I have a CBR 250R for the past 3 months. I am very happy with it. Have ridden it in heavy traffic as well as on highways (600km in a day). It is fun all the way, love the low end torque as well as the ease with which is climbs above 120 kmph.

                    Would strongly recommend.
I ride in just 2 weather conditions...
                    1.When it rains
                    2. When it doesn't

-If you ride with a pillion, go for CBR
-If you ride alone most of the times, go for R15

well i am going to ride solo almost all the time, incase some one else will travel with me i have my car to take care of that so pillion comfort is not what i am bothered about.

One thing that i am bothered about is comfortable cruising speeds. I noe the CBR 250 has a definite advantage in that field, but i'd like to know by how much

Almost 20 kmph Advantage....Go for CBR..for few thousands over R15 you get more power, more comfort ,higher displacement engine, very Fat rear Tire and uniqueness which R15 can't offer since it's very common....

                            My two cents:

                            - At the risk of being rebuked by fellow CBR 250R riders, this bike is the best commuter/city bike you can come across in this country.
                            - The R15 is the cheapest bike with an SBK DNA that you can lay your hands on.

Congrats in advance, whatever your purchase is. After all, you'll be happier than being in a cage anyway.

If you want Comfort and Powerr go for CBR
But if you want to have a bike with awesome looks ... go for R15 !
R15 also has gr8 power but not much as compared to CBR

                                @ Dreamseller and Sheelpriye -thanx

I test rode the CBR 250 again and felt immediately at home due to the ride position, it was so comfortable...... but this is what i hate it for as well .. its too commuterish.

I am leaning more towards the r15 now because of the following things -
                                • Mesmerizing handling
                                • really good build quality
                                • riding position - is uncomfortable but i am sure i'll adjust
                                • You gotta love the way this baby looks
                                • will be easier to sell of in 12 -18 months time
                                • easier off the shelf performance enhancement options courtesy Joel

But i am not sure if i am making the right decision cos most of my riding will be on the six laned delhi gurgaon expressway.
When I am not driving to work i revv the bolts off my 5 yr old P180 UG2 and do speedo indicated 120 -125 all the way but hate the fact that the engine feels lifeless at those speeds

@ Can the r15 cruise comfortably at speedo indicated 120 - 130, i know that the real world speeds will differ.
