This bike selection process driving me crazy. Mind goes from one bike to another.

Again not feeling good to invest 83K (in Bangalore andstill rise in new year) for 'Street lord'. Still it is the in top of the list.

Dazzler - these cunning Honda guys are silently raised price of Dazzler now, see honda website earlier 77k was its price now it is 78.9K (without accessories, ex-showroom price is 68K, 1k< FZ's). I think will only 1k less than Fz total. Not feeling good bcoz doubt its quality parts/spares availability - crucial , no kick lever (If I don't feel good I can't park my bike for a week or two - I have free transport service from my company and hectic traffic in my traveling route).

Honda guys don't feel bad about above comments. Always I feel Honda (HMSI not global honda) guys bit stupid, 'Hero's well en-cashed them. Honda have every thing but they make product incomplete by missing something. Looks of bike always lesser than expectation. Service no need to tell. [THIS IS PERSONAL VIEW]

Why people not opting for SS125? Only 1ps less than SZ-R. SS125 too has good looks + engine kill switch + good FE + pass light + more comfy seats + kick lever (this is for my requirement!!) + 8K less than SZ-R.

You might have checked the price for deluxe version of the Dazzler (I might be wrong, but check it twice).

With input costs going high, every manufacturer is increasing the prices. And, everybody knows that Honda charges some premium for their products; its waste to crib about it again.

Regarding the quality of Dazzler, I own one for almost 1.5 years, and never find it to be inferior quality; panels quality is great and no vibrations at anytime. Absence of kick lever is not a big problem. Never faced any problem with starting, even after a week idle. The bike comes with 5-amp maintenance free battery which minimizes battery discharge. If you follow the starting instructions in the manual, you will never get starting trouble, unless something is wrong with the bike.

Now, its your call. BTW, I guess you have taken test rides of the bikes you have selected. There is nothing better than you taking a close observation about the bike you are going to buy. Judge the quality yourself.

Since all of the bikes you listed were 150cc bikes, nobody suggested the 125cc SS125. SS is a good bike from Yamaha so you can take a test ride and decide about it. If having no disk brake is ok, then consider the plain SZ.

I dont recommend the plain SZ, since the engine is pretty torquey and has good 30-70kmph pickup. You will hence also need stable braking. And by going for SZR you get an selfstart and disc brake which is a must. Its always the front brakes in any vehicle that gives it the stopping potential. Dont compromise it. And get those tyres changed.
I dont think its crucial to have engine kill switch unless you cant move your hand over to engine key, which is highly unlikely in a commuter bike, Its ment for bikes where you lean on the tank and its difficult to take ur arm from handle and switch off. Also I heard that using engine kill harms ur battery, no idea in what way or if thats true, I dont agree with it. But I can say that having one will help you kill the bike easily and you can get the FZ electricals wired and change the switches to get the pass switch and engine kill, enabled on SZ for few hundred bucks although this terms to void the warranty.

The SS125 is totally different here., Its 125cc engine is not refined like the SZ which has same engine of FZ but detuned by an Electronic chipset. Upon riding both I felt SZ was way more refined and pleasure to ride on highway.

As you are asking about SZ-R, lemme chip in with my experience with my machine black SZ-R.

Did Pune - Mumbai - Pune twice, actually rode today itself from Mumbai to Pune, about 175 kms of distance flat out in 3 hours and 15 mins with only 15 mins of break in between, rode it between 70-100 kmph, no problem at all! No vibs, very comfortable, good over-taking and ultra smoothness. I had about 5 liter of petrol + 2 liter reserve, it travelled around 175 kms and yet to hit reserve. I am hoping it to hit reserve in next 20-30 kms which says that the mileage to be approximately 40 kmpl + (Its a very wrong way to calculate the mileage, take it as approximate)

I got SZ-R for daily commuting and ended up using only for touring, its one of the best in its class.

Even I did my first solo ride for about 350 kms to and fro on it, I had no issues. I take it to small tours of about 100-150 kms over the weekend, very comfortable!

In city, the low end torque makes it even better machine!

Downside: TVS Tires and other goodies.
