I am 22 year old Guy & stay at Thane (next to mumbai)
I have done lot of research from last 1 month for buying a new bike
my basic reqiurements are ..
>> Mileage = min. 55KMPL
>> Good Looks
>> Good Brand
>> Low maintenance
>> my monthly usage is just around 100-120KMs
>> 75 K budget
>> Need a Kick Start..

Bikes in my list were ..
1. Twister
Awesome mileage but the i think body parts & paint job are not up to the standards..saw one year old twister yesterday..& removed it from my list...
i am 5'10 & it wont suit me.
2. Stunner
my first alternate..
good combo of style + mileage + reliability (HONDA) but lacks kick starter ...so not in my list & it has vibration problems too..
there are lot of complains about Stunner's battery n start up problems.
3. Yamaha SZ-R & TVS Apache 160 HYPER EDGE
a good & powerful package but i think my mileage requirements were around 55 in city ,so it is not possible for SZ-R & hunk..
4. Hunk/ Extreme
removed from my list for not having kicker & good mileage
5. Unicorn
No match of it' refinement & quality but it has 5 month waiting period in my city..
6. SS 125
Its the only bike left after removing above bikes from list...n really liked it..looks sporty,..delivers everything i want
I finally decided to buy ss125 as it is the great bike which fulfills all requirements..
i am very sure that ss125 will not require much maintenance for 2 years as there are so many positive reviews about this bike..& hardly found any negative review..
The only thing is stopping me from buying this bike is SPARES.
I stay at Thane & ss125 is very rare bike in my city, (i have seen just 3 ss125 bikes in last 1 year)..
i asked my local mechanic n he said they there can be problem in getting spares of this bike as it is not a very popular model.(ss125/gladiator)
he advised me to buy a unicorn..

That Mechanic keeps spares of Yamaha FZ,SZ as my friend (who own FZ) changed his Break pads & clutch plate from the same shop..
Official Yamaha Service station is around 5-6 Km away but i can take my bike there every time for every small issue...i even called there once to check if they keep spares of ss125, Service station Guy said
"you will have to bring your bike here, as we do not sell spare parts outside ,,you will have to get it fixed here..only"
It is very pathetic as if my bike is not starting how he expects me to get bike there ??

My Concern is:
1. Shall i buy this bike as it is kinda rare ? what you say guys?
2. do FZ, SZ-R, old Gladiators n ss125 share same internal parts (gear systems, cables, clutch plates, break pads etc)
can anyone put light on this as if they have similar parts then i would not mind buying this bike.
3. Any one from Mumbai- Thane to & who knows about Yamaha bikes (sss125 to be specific) & can guide me ??
Thanks.
