You didn't put P200NS in your list, why? from your selection it appears that your budget is around 1 lakh. We had reviews from almost all big auto sites and they all had lots of good things to say about this machine. Even though it's going to be available only in April, I guess it makes sense to wait it out. Especially for your kind of use, 200NS makes lot of sense. On top of that it's still running on carburettor, which means maintenance is going to be cheap and also with Bajaj we know that spares are dirt cheap.

      Yes!! I loved the specs!

      But few questions:
When does the booking start in chennai and when shall I expect to get it delivered?
Does it feel comfy for my height(arnd 5.8-5.9") and how about the pillion comfort?
Wat s the otr price in chennai(les than 1.2L)?

If these are perfect, then pulsar200Ns it is!!! I shall wait!!!

there are un-official bookings going on in different cities.check out you nearest probiking for info.you can expect it to be delivered in april.it will be more than comfy for your height, actually height doesn't matter when the bike is rolling.pillion seat is a step-up one so it will be high ,don't know about the comfort though, but you can always add extra inch of foam.well bajaj has assured us that the bike will be priced under 1 lakh .happy motoring.
and the question remains why do i race?

Probiking Chennai said P200NS will not be sold from their outlet, rather will be from the regular dealers. Both Probiking and Jai Autos(Adyar) say the booking is expected to start by the end of the month and the deliveries in April. And that too, they say is yet to be confirmed.

              1. Karizma zmr - love the looks , not sure about the specs ... But hate the rear tyre??? ( I love bikes with wider rear tyres at least 130+)

              Thanks !!!
ZMR is a complete package . about tyre you can change to oversize done by some ZMR owners refer ownership thread . And about top speed some ZMR OWNERS have tested & found ZMR speedo meter is more accurate & driving it side by side with other bike there is lot difference in speedo reading as other showing more speed .

Let's jus hope that the height N pillion comfort are met

Well, I came to chennai for a couple of days.
Headed straight to Bajaj Showroom, but out of luck to hear the news that P200NS booking had not started (And few showroom ppl donot even understand wat 200NS is :S :S :S). Just fed up, went to yamaha showroom and asked for the firey red version of R15... And for my luck... I was told that it would be available for delivery on monday ... but the thing is i wont be there till monday an would leave to hyderabad soon :\...

So, not sure if i have to book it already, or wait for 220 NS, or wait further and check out the KTM as well :=|| ...

Suggest me some1 !!! and i actually love the loooks of the blood red yammie machine still doubt that the pillion would have a good time on that ;-) so she suggests me to take a fazer instead(i can convince to take the r15 instead ;-), but for 1.25L worth it? :S :S :S aaaaaaaaah... am so confuseddd) :\

[PS - M planning to buy my bike in abt 3 weeks from now, as i would get transferred to chennai, my hometown ]

try duke dude,r 15 s are common on road, you won't have to worry about pillion comfort, you can beat r15 in drags.if you are tight on budget try p200 ns,it is worth the every penny.
and the question remains why do i race?

                        Thanks Berlin and Sayank.

I agree with you guys ... that the duke / 200NS go way ahead of R15 on the specs sheet. But still I doubt, I can wait for 4-5 months [].

And coming to Duke, I have seen pictures of even tall guys riding it and felt duke would be way taller compared to the rest ... atleast for me ...

So, I have come down to a point where I am supposed to buy my machine by maximum end of march (with delivery time included ).

So in that case, I am completely uncertain of what I am gonna buy.

I am just being confused :S?!?!?!

But I have decided a few bikes that are actually in the market now... (Which are actually my dad's preference though - he ruled out cbr250 R, Duke and also KARIZMA !!! [yawn])

He asked me to go get a CBZ extreme/dazzer/CB Uni. I said i would rather get a tvs xlsuper!!!... Then after a long debate, I convinced him for the following bikes :S:

                        1. Yamaha R15
                        2. Fazer
                        3. FZ-S
                        4. Pulsar 220
                        5. Apache -180 ABS
                        6. Pulsar 200 NS

Although my preference would remove options 2, 3 and 5, leaving me with only R15 V2 (I love the firey red edition), P220 and the upcoming P 200 NS.

And out of those 3, i feel P220 is bulky? atleast that is my opinion. And R15 seems underpowered and overpriced (Please justify) and also my pillion would suggest me to go for fazer (yuck) but i shall convince her ... and P200NS goes way out of my patience time waiting, I shall wait for it if i can actually get the bike into my garage within april mid - AT THE MAX :S...

Appreciate your tolerance over my impatient behavior and help me out on deciding the best bike :P

                          wrong perception.

                          1. Yamaha R15
                          4. Pulsar 220.
                          5. Apache -180 ABS

why are you leaving out rtr abs?
And out of those 3, i feel P220 is bulky? atleast that is my opinion.
it's not that bulky compared to zmr,fazer,r15.
And R15 seems underpowered and overpriced (Please justify)actually r15 may feel a little under-powered in lower gears, which we primarily use within city, but it has lot in store in higher gears.and about the price to me it is overpriced by a margin of 5-10 thousand, but then, dyasil cyllinder, forged piston, perimeter frame don't come cheap. and also my pillion would suggest me to go for fazer (yuck) but i shall convince her
actually fazer is not that comfortable in terms of pillion.

Bulky as in - not just the weight, but the way it allowed me to handle its weight, ZMR was a good handler and so are fazer and R15 - compared to the 220.

That's a convincing justification!, but yet, would you suggest me to go for R15 out of the 6 bikes I have provided? As all i need are good looks, great acceleration and a "decent" top speed with excellent handling. All of these, "If the price is justified".

True, but still if the machines above could satisfy my needs, I guess I shall very well invest on one of em and get myself going as I have other investments and also need a bike as early as possible. although it is not that looker it is a PERFORMER.that's what appeal to me most about this bike.

Bulky as in - not just the weight, but the way it allowed me to handle its weight, ZMR was a good handler and so are fazer and R15 - compared to the 220.
if r15 is the parameter p220 loses big time.

That's a convincing justification!, but yet, would you suggest me to go for R15 out of the 6 bikes I have provided? As all i need are good looks, great acceleration and a "decent" top speed with excellent handling. All of these, "If the price is justified".
                              p200ns it is.

But I guess the other bikes are promising as well ;-)

if you long for r15 in your heart p200 ns will not satisfy you.

R15 V2.0 is your pillion ready to hop on?
P220 vs leave it aside for now.
ZMR (Hate the rear wheel and dad's refusal to buy :S) vs rear tyre is indeed skinny, buy it only if you tour exensively, although i would rather suggest zma than zmr.
RTR180 (as per your suggestion) vs i love it.
Fazer/FZ-s (Wont buy :P) vs rather stay away from these under-powered,not so vfm,not so frugal machines.
P200NS (Cant wait if its too long)bajaj has promised its launch around april.

So wat is your final advise ? Things are explained but I am still in the same position, given my comments for yours... Your final advise to choose my bike is highly welcomed
see i am too on the verge of buying a new ride,my choices are >rtr abs,p200,cbr 150[if priced properly].every one has different needs, for your requirements i suggest you to go for p200ns.if you are fairing-addicted then choose r15.

and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
                              #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

                                R15 within my reach

                                Well here it goes!,

M back to hyderabad for 2 more weeks before i return permanently to chennai.

I had my dad book an advance amount at yamaha showroom near my house to block a limited edition yamaha R15 firey red colour. And for the record, he did! and yes, one R15 Firey red is within my reach to be mine as soon as i reach chennai!

But then came a shocking news ... my gf says i should not buy it :S she says she s scared of sitting that high and also after marriage she says that it would not look good to ride with a seating posture like that :-(. Heart shattered without knowing what to do i said my dad lets cancel the booking, but unfortunately that could not be done as he has planned to sell the good ol' enticer there for a good bargain.

I some how convinced my dad to check out the ZMR atleast (which she would feel comfortable) but it seems it would take more than 2 months for its delivery (which my dad does nt appreciate for a Hero motorbike).

So I am left with two options ... either to take the booked R15 - modify its seat (Zzzzzzzzz???) or buy a FZ/Fazer and die with all my dreams shattered :\

Please advice, if at all there is any other way out of this tight situation :S
