  • Urgent: I am very much ConFused.... Please help

    Hi Everyone,

I am having a confusion in deciding the right bike that suits my needs. However, i've already shortlisted few names, i don't know which one is meant for me.
I enjoyed my CBZ for almost seven years and never felt any thing wrong with it. Recently i sold it to one of my friend because i wanted to buy a car for my daily commuting purpose. But in a place like NCR, driving a car was never easy in these long lasting congestion. Last year I took an FZ for this, but wasn't impressed after my experience with CBZ. Now i need a bike which looks good, should have a good acceleration, reliable and a VFM package. Importantly, one which can dare to be a perfect successor of CBZ for me.

To cut short, i have four bikes in my mind -
    The YAMAHA R15 Version 2.0,
    KTM Duke 200,
    Hero Moto Karizma ZMR and,
    Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS

    About me -
    Age : 25
Weight : 78 kg (fairly well built)
    Height : 5 feet 11 "
    Budget : MAX 1.3L (onroad).

I travel almost 50 Kms daily and have to get a new bike as soon as possible.

Kindly suggest and help which bike would fulfill my needs.

If city commute is the main use then Pulsar and KTM would do fine. You could also check out Apache 180 with ABS and the Unicorn Dazzler.
      Good Luck!

i strongly suggest u for either KTM or New Pulsar 200NS only

as u have good height R15 might cramp ur leg .. and other bike don;t even think abt now ..as those are very old tech now

as per review both KTM / P200NS have better tech and height

if you are not really concerned about mileage then you can buy either duke or p200ns.having said that i would suggest you to check out zma and rtr abs.the latter bikes will serve your purposes with out pinching your pocket and missing out on fun factor.happy motoring.
and the question remains why do i race?

i have taken the test rides on Duke and R15. I felt that R15 was much better in terms of agility and handling. Acceleration of Duke was awesome. But let me state the fact that Duke was not looking as it looked in pics. It was quite smaller and sounded great. The kmpl quoted by the showroom people was 30-35 kmpl where as for R15 they told be me it's always above 40 and with handled carefully you can expect more than 48 from it.

well i don't know about your opinion but i think duke is equally agile on road, looks are subjective but those orange beasts will be traffic magnets for sure, and about what showroom guy quoted, well, you don't wanna ride r15 in a manner that it gives you constant 45+.

I went to the KTM showroom PBK Noida and they told me the waiting period is 90 days and the booking amount is 20K. Also, they told me the price of the Duke could be increased, which is 1.32 L on-road in Noida at the moment. However, the bookings, till date, is quite less in numbers. I also witnessed some vibrations around 3k rpm and the most of the part of the bike was fibre. Considering this for long term, is this a good thing to have so much of fibre in a bike like Duke and the vibes which were coming at 3k rpm.....

+1. if you ride to get max FE from a performance bike like R15 then you wont enjoy it much. FE is different for different riders even with the same bike. you can ignore the figures given by sales guys for ktm and wait for a few ownership reviews if possible.
ride a r15 in city for an hour or so to see if you are comfortable with the posture for your daily ride. at the end of the day you should be comfortable with your ride to enjoy the experience.

well afaik the frame is made of pressed steel, not fibre ,i don't think reliability will be an issue in long term ownership, although time will tell that,as first batch of cbr had some niggles ,premium segment bikes are not always niggle-free,about the vibes at 3k rpm i am doubtfull..

That's thanks to Yamaha Delta frame chassis and amazing aerodynamic body. The mileage in R15 is due to it being an FI(fuel injected) 4 valve engine. So however you ride, you will get a consistent 40+ any day. Considering you travel on 6th gear at 50-70kmph. You will surely get upto even 50kmpl! I am serious about it.
There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.
