go for either pulsar 135 or ss 125.both will serve your purpose well.have a look at discover also.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

I dont agree pulsar 135 has a rigid body, its more ooph and style to plasticy body it.

Best options to look out are:
          1. Hero Honda Passion Pro
          2. Yamaha SS125
          3. Bajaj Discover 100/125

Test drive these and see which service station is nearest to you, personally I prefer Yamaha, but ppl have their own liking. All the 3 bikes are best in its class, only the discover has little vibrations and rigid gear box. Whereas the Hero Honda and Yamaha are awesome!
There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

You have a large number of bikes in these categories. I would recommend Honda CB Twister. It has all you have asked for. Its a proper commuter bike with enough puff and sturdy frame. The bike will surely return 60+. Will be under 60k.

Other options are the Bajaj Pulsar135. Again a leader in its class. But the main difference from the former is that this one is a street bike with sporty seating position which gets your nerves sometimes(say long traffic travel). On the upside the bike will return 55-60kmpl and has a lot of gadgets. Also the bike is very quick and stylish too. Not sure about the price.

I would not recommend the Yamaha SS125. The product is just there for the sake of having a 125cc bike and is likely to be phased out in a while.

Discover 100/125 both are pretty good when it comes to mileage. But the D100 doesn't have enough puff to carry two. The latter would be better.

Take test drives and you'll know which one to go for.

150cc cornering like hell is great!

although it has clip-ons but seating position is quite upright as the foot-pegs are not rear-seat.go for p135.

Care to explain? According to user reviews, it is one of the best bikes in 125cc segment. Is there any specific issues with this one?

actually both of your comments are kinda true in a way,ss 125 is one of the best or probably the best 125 cc out there, but yamaha has put it in their in their product portfolio for the sake of having a 125 cc.

I agree, Yamaha doesnt market their lower end bikes, if you visit the showroom, they r only interested in getting you a R15 or a FZ. SZ and SS125 are less attraction, you wouldnt even have a test ride bike or multiple color choice on display whereas there will be atleast 4 colors of FZ!

Don't get a 100cc bike man to cry whole day.

If you want decent mileage with performance look no further than P135LS.
If you want superb looks (Half Faired) with OK mileage and OK performance (till 65kmph) Stunner (but little pricey).
If you want decent mileage with low performance but nice refinement Shine.
Apart from these 3 I do not think other bikes are valid contenders.
                        Whats there in a signature?

                          +1 to Pulsar 135.
It's the best of both world. mileage of a 125cc and performance of 150cc.

SZ-R is a very capable bike but the OT wants to limit himself to 100-125cc so I did not recommend him. If it was 150cc the SZ-R and GS-150R are very sensible buys. SS-125 has good performance Sayank but the looks are quite dated (the very old gladiator looks) and Yamaha's <150cc bikes dont sell well so there are some spare parts problems as I have knows from some users. A guy who is buying a low-end bike would not risk himself in these hassles so I said so. My personal opionion. It might be wrong.
