rtr fi has the technolgy and the handling and easy 2 manouvre anywhere.
Its a fun bike more than anythin .
u get the rear disc ,its agile .VFM.

FZ is good , refined more comapred to rtr , but lacks the punch that the rtr has . its good until about 6krpm , after that u feel the struggle start to build power.

thats not the case with rtr fi.

leave the carb behind , get the fi :-D

@the end , it just depends what u want , looks dept/handling/refined in fz or a mix of all in the rtr.

... and did anybody forget the safety part in Fz-16??

Like RTR, Fz has awesome stopping power, brakes are really excellent. Whats different from RTR is the broad front tyre and those huge front forks. When you brake hard, the weight is pushed forward, you will need good strong front fork and broad front tyre to keep the bike stable, Fz does just that. Broad front tyres makes sure that even if there is gravel or water, the bike stays planted and not loose traction. Fz gives you loads of confidence on road.

Note: The famed broadest front forks of P220 is 37mm, Yamaha YZF-R1's front forks are 43mm and our Fz-16s front forks are 41mm

but i think there are also many issues with the fi version...i heard fromthe TVS dealer that minimum of 4 lts of petrol should be there in the fuel tank to keep the bike running....or for atleast turning it on
and the tyres of the rtr sucks big time . my nro fell down with his bike into an drain when the bike skidded on the sand ....at 20kmph speed...the tyre sucks

Even I had the same confusion and started a thread too but later came todecide by comparing the two the result is as follows and make your choice accordingly:-
            1.Styling
Fz16 is the clear winner as its the first naked street bike as quoted by Yamaha but RTR isnt too bad either.
            FZ16-9
            RtReFi-7

            2.Gear Shifting
Again FZ16 has more refined engine and the gears are very much precise
Altough you would fill lack of power in 2nd gear but you will manage.
            FZ16-8
            RTReFi-7

            3.Smoothness
Here the eFi comes to limelight. It makes the bike utter smooth and you feel lots of power in every gear.
            RTReFi-9
            Fz16-7.5

            4.Value For Money
RTReFi Rs76000 on road at Jaipur is a bit overpriced when compared with RTR Carb Rs 68000 onroad at Jaipur
as it has only EFI and Rear Disc extra. But in Fz16 you get it all at Rs 71829 onroad at Jaipur its better option.
            Fz16-9
            RTReFi-8

even though i am a yammie guy(rx 100) i suggest to go for FI than FZ. I am not suggesting against FZ but the performance, mileage and everything is VFM in FI. if its the looks and road stability You are looking at then FZ.

Both bikes are good but F1 scores on simplicity. More performance, Rear Disc and better fuel efficiency too. Whereas FZ is a big head turner.
Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

first of all if your options are only two then
i suggest test ride both the bikes.
and dont ride thinking about the bike. ride it normally as you would ride a bike. then you will be in the position to tell which bike is more suitable.
look for the seating position, riding comfort, response to your throttle , traffic flickable, cornering, road grip etc and check these with pillion and without pillion. this way you will get an idea about the bike.

I didnt want to add Pulsar since its common nowadays in roads....

I want something different..thats why i added FI and FZ.

I rided both.....i liked both...but can purchase one.

I think now this is the hottest discussions among all forums and blogs..thats y iam confused...even here 50% is for FI and 50% for FZ..

if you are ready to wait a long time then book FZ or else FI.
Btw dont know whats the waiting period for FI.

i personally will suggest you FI for its value for money and power combination. and it is not way behind in styling as well.
buy a FI and revv harder and ride sanely.

FZ has better grip, better look and offcourse unique style.
FI is a value for money.

I guess looks are subjective matter ... Although, RTR looks hot ...

My suggestion would be RTR Efi ... for we, the performance bikers, RTR is better in every way, except maybe tyres. My reasons for choosing RTR over FZ:-->

                                1. Fi Advantages- Mileage, Quick starts, Response, etc.
                                2. Riding position- Rear set Footpegs, Low handlebars,
                                3. Other features like Clip ons,
                                4. Feeling of High revving ...
                                5. FZ feels undergeared after I drive my P180. It was noticed by me, when testing FZ.
                                6. Displacement- 159cc > 153cc. I know it's small but it matters!

So, RTR if you ask me... It has whole lot with it.
