Thanks for the suggestion. Over the last few days I have been looking up on a few RE models and I would say that even I am tilting towards an Electra instead of a TBTS. Its chiefly because an Electra has the vintage look more than the TBird. Would be taking a test ride on an Electra (have already test driven a TBTS) when it is available before I finalise and book my RE Also the fact that the basic specs are all the same, is making me more pro-Electra.

Anyways, you never know the last minute change of plans. However I shall keep all of you posted about my final decision... And yes, any more views are but welcome, since as I said I am very new to REs

I have sort of put my heart on the RE Electra Twinspark now (over the TBTS obviously ). However I was just checking the RE website and comparing Electra with the Classic 350 model. All the specs for these two look the same. What then is the difference between an Electra Twinspark and a Classic 350??? Which one is better??

TBTS is more cruiser friendly!! TBTS design helps rider to ride more miles as compare to other bikes or his own elder siblings!! TBTS is more comfortable and free feel ride.
Where as Electra is a better looks and features bike than STD! It's riding postion is same as STD. Electra has the same engine like TBTS UCE 350cc. same power and average!! But electra is more comfortable in handling than TBTS. Turning or overtaking on Electra is more confident then TBTS. Both bikes shares the same madness over all aspects apart from handling. But TBTS has more better consoles then Electra.

Electra is good for city and Tours, But TBTS is mostly good for highways and tour. I find TBTS hard in handling part in City traffic than electra INMO.

Thank you sairamboko and somen1984. Its been now more than 2 months since I booked my Electra. Was close to almost getting it after just one month of booking. Had got a call from the dealer that it was available but then I was away on a tour for 10 days, and they weren't ready to halt so long...!! Said I would get it within 10 days after touching base again, but then its been now almost a month and I still awaiting "the call" :tring: :tring:

I absolutely agree with you here somen. I test drove both - Electra and TBTS. The Electra is easier to handle since my earlier and current bike is the Victor. Getting used to TBTS would therefore take a day or two. Its good for cruising no doubt, but ain't Electra more traditional in looks than a TBTS. And I had also discussed with a manager at the RE regarding difference between a Std and Electra. He said the difference in cost is just the royalty for the original design. Rest all is just the same...!!!

TBTS is a nice choice indeed! But don't make a choice becuase others are too opting it! Actually i see CL more then electra/TBTS here and outside too.

Oh yes, taking a test ride before deciding would be the best thing. As regards visibility of Classics, well I guess this is happening at my end as well. I see so many Classics on the road as compared to Electra. I had also seen the booking list of my dealer. The number of people opting for Classics was huge....!!

yes.. people are crazy for classic.. in hyderabad the waiting period is minimum 1year!!! and i have some questions here.. 1) Electra vs TBTS- I was going through all posts related to this.. its confusing.. majority say TBTS suited for highway rides and electra suited for long rides!! arent they actually same?? 2) I would be expecting my delivery soon. and i am planning on some modifications- a) exhaust- is it adivisable to change the exhaust before run in itself? b) can i fit the classic 500's lamp into TBTS or electra?3)performance of TBTS and electra in high speeds like 100+ . of course its not advisable to go over 100.. but then sometimes we tend to go..

Yea...thats surprising about the Classics. the manager wanted me to go for a Classic, but the fact that there was no difference in the specs made me stick to Electra. And this is what he himself told me. So I guess he was honest. Don't know the waiting period for a Classic in Nagpur. For a TBTS and Electra it is 3-4 months. And with colors being other than black, well you have to be lucky to get them. Silver is very rare to get..thats what I have been told.

                          1. Coming to the Electra vs TBTS debate. What I have read is that both are good for long rides..Isnt that what a RE bike should be for. But TBTS is more comfortable because of its cruise like design. Its seat is better in that there is less strain for the bikers as compared to an Electra. So though both are good (see the specs, there is almost no difference), its the exhaustion factor which is less in a TBTS and hence it is better for a long drive..!!

2a) Coming to the exhaust fitting, from what I have read on this forum, it is advisable to change it only after 4k-5k kms. I do intend to change the exhaust for my Electra too, but only after I have logged these kms. I have forgotten the exact technical reason for it now, some filter issues (though I am not sure) Crawl through this site and you would surely get it, coz many want to do it.

2b) No idea about the lamp. I would like to know that myself as well

                          3. As regards speed, there is this interesting stuff I came across. If I am incorrect please correct me. The bike does tend to vibrate at higher speeds if the load/weight of the rider is less. So if the rider is heavy or say he is pillion riding the chances of the vibrato effect are less at higher speeds. There is a little bit of technicality here, which as I am not an expert about Bullets I am unaware of. Just that I had read this when scrawling the web. Personally I believe that a Bullet has to be driven slow. Its ROYAL and you have to exude the ROYALTY.

Apart from the questions which i asked previously, I have some more doubts. I request the RE owners and Gurus to clarify this.

                              1. PDI for a TBTS 350- Is there any PDI for TBTS? if so please share it
2.Running In- I ahve some doubts here too. The owners manual says not to cross the 70km/h mark for the first 3000kms. But i went through the forums and other forums too. People are advising to rev sometimes to 100km/h so that the engine will run smoothly at higher speeds. Can anybody post a clear instructions for TBTS?

                              thanks guys..

Actually TBTS suits for highways and tour, where as Electra suits for city and Tur both. But on comfort factor TBTS is way better than Electra!!

Mostly people don't change it before 3-4k kms, becuase i herad it effects the pistons !! But still you can search through the threads. INMO anything approved by company can be fit anytime!!

Both bikes are stable on 1ookmph but they start vibrating and poor brakes so not advisable to go beyond >115kmph, but still it's capable of doing 120kmph+ with a RISK !!!

Moslty running periods are for piston and engine to get used to such beats and perfomrance!! I never cared for this things...Because i have seen helpers riding this bikes like hell on highways while transporting from Godown to Showroom!! Even i never cared for my R15 too...Right from 500kms i started ripping it to 100-110kmph...and after 1st service 130kmph.... INMO it's our believe!! Infact heard that testers in company too rip the vehicles !!
