Coming to your question about driving at higher speeds... Well my first service is still to happen and I tried driving at speeds higher than what are specified in the manual. My personal feeling was that the bike was just not going above 60 kmph. I wonder if the company guys lock speeds??

Nothing like that Dude!! No locking Wocking !! If you ride your vehicle to miinimum speed then Piston gets used to the same beats and speed so when you try to open the throttle after your Run-in then you feel like bike is slugging, not crossing the mark, actually you made the engine behave in that way.Originally posted by pacificwaters View PostI just received the delivery of my Bullet Electra 2 weeks back... and the experience of riding since then has been heavenly.

When you sometime burst out of the normal speed, which is above 100kmph or over 80kmph then your engine gets used to some high speed, it means Piston is ready for something more than normal i.e 60kmph>.
So Some time reving is goos, but in limit only!! else you will stick with bad fuel efficiency!!!

Well now that you say there is nothing of this sort, I might as well try revving up my Bullet today. But then do all bikes not have this stuff saying that do not exceed speeds of x kmph during the 1st xyz kms??
Talking about fuel efficiency, my experience is that in the first lot (of average calculation) when I drove my bike at average speeds of 45-50, I got a higher average than when I attempted crossing 60 kmph. Nevertheless, I am attempting crossing 60 today..!!

Yes absolutely all bikes comes with an instruction do not ride more then Xkmph for Y Kms...Becuase if there is no restriction then all bike riders will ride their bike from day 1 to their TopSpeed. LOgic behind this runnin period is Piston and BLocks are new, while in running period of X or Y or Z kms piston gets heated, use to massive beats of blocks, which a new piston will break or develop a crack if you start stroking him from day one.Originally posted by pacificwaters View PostWell now that you say there is nothing of this sort, I might as well try revving up my Bullet today. So we use this running period just to make the engine and piston/block use to the beats and actual performance!!

good choice on the electra bro, i maintains that retro looks of an RE and the dealer himself was saying the new electra is a problem free vehicle compared to the older ones and better than the tbts.. its cheaper i guess too.. tbts i felt vibrated a bit more after 60 -80 kmph... but a cl500 is something different, i felt like i need a seat belt when riding him, because of the raw power, felt a horsy !!
standard 350 looks more appealing to the younger gens but if u love the looks of electra better then its your choice.. after all you should buy what you feel and not thinking about what others would feel
..
happy riding mate !! hope you get your delivery soon ,they say 4months doesnot necessarily mean has to be 4 months ,its within , so if someone above you pull out you get yours faster...

Thanks for that update somen.
Chinafreak..I got delivery of my bike 2 weeks ago..and ever since then I have been on cloud 9. The stares are just so ego-satisfying. I went for an Electra because I do not like the Cruiser looks of any bike. Electra is definitely more oriented towards the classic looks of the traditional RE. Hence my choice of Electra. besides there are no differences in specs (technical) either for an Electra or a TBTS
