- i feel, you are too much confused.
- RE's generally have a very long and absurd kind of waiting period.
- don't be careless with your money, just because you have it.
- if mother's comfort is all that matters, believe me she will be much more comfortable in a Nano or a second hand Alto.

@princesirohi
Thanks for taking the time.
I was confused in the beginning, yes. But I made up my mind for the electra and booked it.Originally posted by princesirohi View Poston reading the entire thread --

I am not confused now and prepared to wait for the said duration (which is 2-3 months more).Originally posted by princesirohi View Post
RE's generally have a very long and absurd kind of waiting period.
But I am not sure about whether this is common practice among dealers or am being taken for granted (w.r.t the wavering waiting/queue number).
Just wondering if someone had to deal with such an absurd explanation from a dealer.
Cheers

Just a single question... you had been riding a standard... why did you decided to change from it ?? And now why don't you purchase a Classic 350 or 500 depending upon your torque and milage needs.. its the best bike out there for touring.. and is a great looker too with very comfertable seats for you and any pillion.. be it your mother or a small kid.. everyone is comfertable on it..

Just read you have booked an electra.. I would say a really wise decision.. though I like standard and classic looks much more then electra.. still seeing the waiting list of classic and no electric start in std the electra remains the sole bullet for sane people...
All the best... njoy thumping

Actually i am an Awenger as well as RE supporter. decide with yourself, how much time have to already passed and how much days left??Originally posted by santhoshknn View PostI will be going down to the dealer to visit and honestly in the mood to cancel my booking (I know, they hardly care because of the amount of bookings they've) . What do you guys suggest?
Will you be happy to wait few more months. I have seen many folks who don't get it in specified time. They increase a month or two at end.
Awenger is a best option to fullfill RE's cruising bug.
At end you have to decide.
RE has the worst Support relationship or sales Strategy!! In these 2yrs actually RE could have normalised the sales queue but thy are really in their own stone age time like some Navi's tribe(own world). They don't really care for any customers!!
Why shsould we wait for a 350cc which is not that worth compare to other bikes?? which are way lower?? Only becuase we love RE style!! But it doesn't mean that RE should take advantage of us.
Now TB500 has 8 months waiting period, isn't this real madness.Last edited by Guest; 07-31-2012, 03:51 PM.

I visited the dealer today and this time around was told a different number in the waiting list. I am going to wait for another 3 before giving up.(It's been 2 months now)Originally posted by somen1984 View Posthow much time have to already passed and how much days left??
Agree with you there on them increasing it at their will. I do think that few guys manage to pull favours from the dealer.
Thanks

@santosh - Did you checked the Hero impulse ? It has a very good pillion support as told by many of my friends.
Also the Zma-r is pillion friendly.
Check it out too as i think ZMA-R can fulfill your both needs as impulse can do comfortably 90ish kinda speeds for long duration and with the visibilty you get on it, its more like an SUV.

Pics attached
My apologies. I assumed that I won't be able to upload pics
Photos taken on the day of delivery, just before registration.
I insisted on riding it myself to the RTO for registration for fear of abuse by the chaps at the showroom. My apprehension was proved right when the showroom chap rode a TBTS (also due for registration) in speeds exceeding 80 km/h while I tailed him at about 55-60 km/h. He almost screwed my registration by trying to take an impression of my chassis in the TBTS' registration form.
It also gave me a chance to sort out front disc squeaking issues before the delivery.
Riding it back home (150 km ride) at 55-60 km/h on an empty stretch was the hardest part. It was like walking in a marathon. My first service is due on wednesday.
Cheers

Thread ClosedAdvice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
