  • Please Sugest me my first bike.

    Hello friends,

I am glad to tell you that i am planning to buy a new bike. As I am a novice in biking and have no knowledge about any bike so please help me choosing my bike. I shall be very thankful to you.

    My REQUIREMENTS are:

    1. Budget- Max. Rs. 85000
    2. Average- My father said he wants 50 kmpl atleast.
    3. I am 22 years old 5' 10" not fat not thin.
    4. The main thing i want is "SPORTY LOOKS". (but also the mileage because of my father)
    5. Bikes with digital meter will be preferred (because it looks very nice to me atleast)
    6. I don't know about the CC factor much. So that is not a problem even a 100 CC bike can be good in looks (SPORTY obv.)

I have seen some bikes such as Pulsar 135LS, Stunner, Dazzler etc but no idea about them whatsoever.

Guys I am planning to buy a bike this month so please help me as soon as possible.

    Thank you in advance.

    EDIT:

Friends i have also come to know about Yamaha FZS.. It is a verryyy gud looking bike.. but can i expect mileage of 40-45KMPL on it with a proper sane driving..??

Must say that your dad is really clever on one hand he gave you a budget of 85k and then gave a twist with 50kmpl at least!! I don't think you can consider all of the 150cc bikes, just a handful of them return about 50kmpl. You can take a look at GS150R, Unicorn, Dazzler, P135LS. I would suggest P135LS, comes at about 65K, get good biking gear for another 10k, well within budget! gives you good performance as well.

          +1

RTR 160 is perfect for you in every dept. but as you said that cc concept and power is not your concern pulsar 135LS is perfect for you...
But take my advise bro power does matter, if u have a budget till 85k go for rtr, when you will be on road with bike you gonna miss that fun of riding with 100cc bike...

RTR would be a good option. However if you want something which is a bit more reliable, i will suggest a Hero Impulse (since u mention the sporty looks in CAPS). Impulse will surely grab eyeballs and it has a tested Honda 150CC engine and decent on the mileage front aswell. On top of that it is a bilss over bad roads.

            Take ur choice.

Sure bro we I will help you, Pulsar & rtr160 both are different bikes, Pulsar135 is the best looking in 135 cc segment, light sports bike as bajaj stated, 1st Indian bike with 4 value, price is almost 62k on road in Delhi, best in class 135cc bike, good mileage (some get 50-55kmpl in city traffic), fully loaded with features, its a mini pulsar with power, looks, mileage and features (Light inning instrument panel) like pulsar.
Moving to Apache RTR160, It is a very good machine in 160cc with 'Racing Throttle Response', great looks and power, mileage is pretty ok as compared to 150cc segment, around 45kmpl, fully loaded digital console, acceleration is very good of the bike you getting a 160cc bike in almost of the price of 150cc with all features, even now the newer version has just launched, go trow with the thread - TVS Motor Company unveils 2012 TVS Apache Series
So for next 1 or 2 year you not gonna feel that you riding a outdated bike.

Take this as like this, If you wanna buy a 100-125cc in between bike then go for Pulsar 135LS, you will be happy, but If you need a 150cc machine then go for rtr160.

Finally don't go by listing, go for a test ride and then decide.

TVS Apache RTR 160 will cost around Rs. 67k, RTR 180 will cost around Rs. 72k and TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS will cost around Rs. 82k, all are Ex showroom Delhi).
The max mileage of rtr 160 can give you upto 55kmpl and 180 can 45kmpl, as it depends on riding style.

just with my eagerness.. i want to ask 1 more question..

i heard that pulsar 200NS will be giving a mileage of 56kmpl and will be at RS. 85000 something.. so is it true..?? if yes then i guess it might be worth waiting..

and if no then i am going for a test drive of RTR160 this weekend..

Its definitely not coming on sale for 85k OTR. You might as well go ahead with the RTR purchase.

when you have 85k, i don't know why you shortlisted p135 it should be p220 instead. Compromise a lil mileage for that extra fun. And still if you want mileage go for hunk/cbz/p180/rtr.

As I suggested before for a bit more reliability (compared to Apache RTR) go for the Hero Impulse . u can checkout the ownership thread for hero impulse, every one of them seems happy. Test ride it too before taking a decision.

Brother i went to hero showroom with my mother but she didn't like the shape of impulse( her personal opinion only). so that choice is cancelled..
nd when i went to TVS showroom here.. they said that the new model will be available after 15-20 days.. so have to wait till then..

so tell me what to do now..?? shall i wait for it and in meantime the 200NS will also be launched..
