  • Best Bike for Indian Roads and for me?!

Hi Guys, I am planning to buy the impulse. Its a awesome looking bike, I need to commute to college every day, abt 30kms, that is 60kms in total. Half way to the college, the roads are bad, the asphalt of the roads have been skinned away, leaving a bumpy ride for me on my current two-wheeler Activa?

My query is, Is Impulse the best bike for Indian roads, for a suitable off/on road experience! Because in India, if today you see a road, next week the road would vanish away...

    Please help me..

If mileage's not a matter then try the FZ. Softest suspension I've ever ridden.
      Motorcycling Experience:
      2000 ~ 2017 Y2K Kinetic Zoom (Disposed at 15k)
      2011 ~ 2015 Hero Honda Karizma R (Sold at 56.5k)
      2013 ~ 2014 Bajaj Discover 100 4G (Sold at 16.5k)
      2015 ~ 2017 TVS Wego (Totaled at 18k)
      2015 - Bajaj Pulsar 220F (Currently 31k) < Garage Queen!

the fz is a good choice for city riding but as you've mentioned you would be riding on bad roads for a major part of your daily commute, and the fz tyre would give in quite soon in bad roads.
Go for the impulse, not only will it be comfortable on bad roads but it will be so much fun that you will be looking for bad roads
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride!' -Hunter S. Thompson

if you are happy with impulse's power output then go for it,it's ride quality will surely surprise you.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
          #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Well, FZ gives the worst mileage returns! Some of my Friends get 30-35kmpl. I would like it around 45kmpl.

The Impulse would surely make for a unique and distinct buy in the swarm of other bikes in the Market. The fit and finsh is quite good. And the only thing the bike lacks is probably a set of good knobby tyres to take it off road properly, but for regular off roading requirements as you have stated, I think it would be a good choice, also with decent fuel efficiency.

Can we change the stock tyres? I heard they are not tubeless!

@ activaboy: Hero Impulse has a spoked wheel and not an alloy one. So no tubeless tyres... If you still want to install tubeless tyres, you need to change to alloy wheels first which means additional cost...
and as manas quoted, tubeless are not recomended for offroading b'coz spokes can bear more load/jerks/shocks than alloy one. and a spoked wheel = a tubed tyre...

In 150cc Dazzler seems to be better than the other recommendations and powerful engine. The old Unicorn looks quite dated.
Also wait for 2 days to see the next Gen Discover being launched. It would be probably 125cc but I am sure it would be almost competing with the 150ccs of our country in power dept. Also with Bajaj fuel economy doesnt remain a question mark. And this one is a next-gen bike with the refinement knowledge gained from the great KTM so reliability and refinement would also be decent probably.
                            Whats there in a signature?
