I checked with few dealerships which are outside Chennai and following were their feedback,

1) They wont let the bike be registered in Chennai as RE has showrooms in Chennai and its against RE dealer policy to deliver bikes to places where RE showrooms are present.

2) One of the dealers told me that its better to buy in Chennai since the RTO formalities in their location will be very complex as I don't have proper documents.

3) Most of them are ready to deliver in 5 months

. In Chennai the dealer informed that thou the maximum waiting period is 8 months, he will try to deliver it in 6 months.

I'm trying to contact an acquaintance who is in marketing division of RE to help me in getting the bike sooner. Lets see how much of help he would be of.

I guess there are lakhs of RE pending booking for claasic/TBTS he won't be doing a fovour for you for free. You have to go through the waiting period. else go for a premium by booking it from non authorsed dealer, in my place people are booking it with multi bike showroom and paying 25k more and getting a TBTS or CL350 in 2 months. My friend got it in 1 week TBTS.

Why to pay more 1 yr can be crossed by replying here on xbhp

. we have brothers who need our help in choosing bike or complaining on there bike service and performance

. we get to learn here so 1 yr can be crossed by time. And mostly every one is getting there RE within thier allocated time.

After few rounds of talks with few people and after moving some strings here and there I think I might get my bike within 2-3 months

... I dont want to pay a premium for the bike right now... Getting this itself is quite an achievement for me

... so will wait and get in 8 months in a worst case scenario...
And as for the brothers out here, we are always here whether we get a new bike or ride the old

Dude just read through your posts!! be happy that you are getting an RE classic in 2 to 4 months!! I have booked a TBTS in Hyderabad and the waiting period here is crazy man!! 6 months for TBTS,Electra & 350. For classic minimum waiting period is 12 months which extends upto 18 months!! Of course if you are ready to bribe, you can get it in 15 to 20 days, which I cant afford ! and i am against it!! I am just hoping some of them cancel their TBTS bookings and I get it soon

RE should seriously improve their strategy of sales !!!

Ha ha!! yes man!! this is the harsh reality!! just one month from my booking, I am like ,crazy!! When will I get the goddamn bike, my mind screams!! I guess this is the only area which RE needs to improve..and i am sure they will.. They are building a new factory in chennai which i guess will be over by this year end or next year.. hope that will solve the problems

I dout whether they will be completing the work by year end...it's a mega project and it will take time....

Just now i called my showroom guy and he said he will try to give my TBTS in sept which is good news.. also he told me that TBTS 500 will be launched in July 2nd or 3rd week priced close to 1.8 lakhs.. and he told me if i want to upgrade to 500 he asked to give a call in july 1st week.. on the spot delivery for TBTS 500 it seems.. nearly 15 vehicles are coming to the showroom it seems

im still not sure if im getting in 4 months... i havent booked yet... few ppl are telling to book at one showroom and others at another so rite now thinking wat to do... and 18 months is too much man.. total insane... hope u get it earlier than that... once the new factory is up, it should ease the wait...

heard new facility will start functioning from the first quarter of 2013 if things go as planned... but at u said its a big factory so things will obviously get delayed a lil bit...

good for you.. so are you going to upgrade to 500?
