ZMR and R15 are very two different bikes. one is tourer and other is sports bike.

Decide what you want to ride??

many a time we buy a bike which don't suit our nature.

ZMR: is a nice bike and top end is near to 130kmph and good performance and stable too. But not meant for cornering or zigzakking...

R15: Good handling and stability, top speed around 142kmph but averagely you can get 132-135kmph. Technically R15 is much ahead of ZMR. But R15 has high maintenance too compare too ZMR

Basic differenc you must be knowing

Built quality is much better in R15 and and a flickabe.

True exactly R15V2 is not at all family friendly for womans/girls. Need to have a jeans type babe only .

if you are ready to pay 1.3L for R15 then why not a Duke with more power and speed with ease...

R15 or Zmr reach 125kmph but slag to reach 130kmph+ but duke is averagely reach 130kmph+. average is very much same to both.

First decide which riding style do you want? R15 is not at all for traffic riding. ZMR is all rounder. Duke too is best for city and tourer but few have reported cramp legs on long rides.

First of all welcome to the Xbhp bro...

Starting from bottom mileage all depends on one's riding style, if all three of them will be ridden in same way I think R15 will give you more than ZMR.

Yes V 2.0 of R15 is just impossible for ladies to sit both legs one side, yes one's GF can sit (without both legs one side).., even a boy will feel very uncomfortable as pillion, Though old version is very good for pillion too.

I think a 5'11 boys will start facing some back pain problem very soon, while driving in city peak traffic long hours, one of my friend (5'9) some times feel uncomfortable.

ZMR will not take you in trouble in any case compare to R15 v2.0, it will give you a big bike feel too and I think while 5'11 you may also thinking about it, In the case of look R15 v 2.0 is better (personal choice) but ZMR is a bit more powerful.

At the last in the case of handling, technology, performance, stability and track run, no bike in same segment can beat R15 v2.0, But if you need a bit more powerful bike with good pillion seat, a big bike feel with a decent riding posture in city ride, go for ZMR.

5'11 is not tall... that's standard Indian height... so you will come good on any of standard Indian Bike ( 150 CC or Above )

Disclaimer: Am a Duke owner, therefore my views might be slightly biased ...

As somen1984 suggested decide on what you want the bike for first. I did test drive the R15 v2.0 before buying the Duke. Upgrading from a Unicorn I wasn't comfortable with the riding poster of the R15. My primary purpose will be for office commute and some weekend getaways rides of 300kms up and down ... The Duke is quick, flickable, light weight and rev friendly. Top notch build quality and great after sales service support.

Mileage wise it gives about 35 - 40 kmpl provided you ride it sanely. It's not as stable as a R15 during tours at 110kmph+ but it's an amazing bike to ride at 80 - 90kmph.. that's its sweet spot. Believe me when I say this, you can hit that sweet spot pretty quickly thanks to 25BHP

I looked at R15, CBR and Duke .. chose the Duke for its riding posture and its naked looks... Though I loved riding the R15 on the Highway, I am not sure I'll ride it within city limits.. same with the CBR..

Decide depending on your purpose for the bike

5.11 is still a good height for indians..

i guess the average mle height in india is around 5.7- 5.8

Well it completely depends on your riding style and what you need the bike for.

                1. If you want a supersports like feel and ride alone most of the time R15 V2.0 it is
                2. if you want a relaxed riding posture with a relaxed engine and you tour often then ZMR it is.
                3. R15 V1.0 stacks right in between these two, it has a riding posture which is between the ZMR and R15V2.0, it is pillion friendly too. The only drawback is that it has poor low end torque compared to other two bikes so it has to revved to keep it going, if you can bear with that then V1.0 it is.

                Happy Motorcycling

Go for Duke 200 and change the seats to more comfy ones, and there's nothing stopping you. It has got peppy power, rev-free nature, quickest in cornering / handling, sufficient mileage and yeah ! a lot of fun.

Sivigshankar told bike is very stable at 80-90Kph, its still very good for our Indian conditions. Have a test ride and decide !

R 15 V 2.0 is not pillion friendly. The V 1.0 is pillion friendly and corners lightning fast. But with V 1.0, the rider will have to keep shifting to higher gears in the city to keep her in the power band.

                    ZMR is a proven tourer.

What is your requirement BTW? is it for mainly city based riding or long distance riding??

@ thread starter - R15 V1 is no more sold by Yamaha unless you go and buy a second hand bike.

Now duke is a good bike but once you hit 100 kmph the wind blasts can make issues thought below 90 it has good handling but i doubt the pillion comfort as the seat seems too small.

ZMR - a tried and tested tourer also other option is fazer which is a very good tourer and a decent pillion comfort and has good engine which can do 100 + speeds easily.

The R15 v2 is a good bike but pillion comfort and siting is more agressive than above two bikes.

If you tour at good speeds and solo and want a good bang for buck R15 V2 it is as maintenance wise it costs less than KTM and ZMR.

would like to know have you test ride all the bikes mentioned ?

nope Fazer won't touch that mark specially when you are saying with pillion & adding a word "easily"..Fazer might max out at that speed but nothing more then that in true sense..

I am a 75kg guy and i travel with my friend who would be 70kg and we commute to office on his bikes and i see him riding at 100+ many atimes and we are happy with Fazers performance also. i have seen him @ 105kmph so i can assume 110kmph too. Yes to get 120kmph it slags!! but not for 100kmph. and if a girl within 65kgs are any time sure to ride at that speed.
