I don't think 160 is going to disappear as it's giving sweet mileage of 50-55 when ridden sanely,my classmate has a 6years old 150 which is still giving him 60.TVS would certainly want to keep this one Or so i thinkOriginally posted by jonahmano View Post

That's a good question. I personally feel Pulsar are known only for their Brand and Engine grunt which lasts for some years ( maybe 2 or 3 years) and its jerking pickup which people feel they've huge power between their legs and can run like beast. Overall, a nice bike. To know more why people hate pulsars even if its selling like hot cakes for 10 years, an interesting debate was going on other forum. Read the thread till page 3 : http://goo.gl/cx3BzOriginally posted by abhiiceman View Postif pulsars last for 2years then how in the gods name would it dominate all the segments in which it exists for a decade!
Anyway, The bike which you own should be taken care like a family and not like a mere tool for transport , so any bike will perform good for upcoming years.
Get Pulsar 180, though not as confidence inspiring like Apache 180 / 160 at high speeds, still it hold accord of its own

Frankly Speaking, Bajaj is a affordable bike seller. No one in India sells bike for less price as compared to Bajaj.
When 150 was booming in india , Pulsar ate the market because it was less costly to CBZ and mileage was good than any 150cc.
Don't know why the engine dies or comes to verge of death in mere 3yrs ?? Even today bajaj bikes are less priced in the competetive segments.
But yes many pulsars or any other bajaj bike owners says that engine becomes to slag after few years!!
But our dream of owning a bike with power also comes true with bajaj only!!

The good thing about pulsar is its the best value for money.. It not as maintenance free than a yamaha or a honda, but its part are much cheaper. But if you hate going to the svc at all, like me(never went there after 2nd service, just bought 2 oil filters sometime back).. Go for a japanese bike..Originally posted by ashislakra1989 View PostThat's a good question. he intends to keep this bike for more than 10years.Originally posted by somen1984 View PostFrankly Speaking, Bajaj is a affordable bike seller. No one in India sells bike for less price as compared to Bajaj.

my uncle's 2004 pulsar with 86000KM on odo is still running fine. no problems so far just regular maintenance, change of tires, brakepads cables etc.
but he thinks new pulsars are s#it and very unreliable. so no bajaj, hero bikes and now no TVS apache due to vibrations and sporty riding posture
he is asking which one is better according to his requirements? dazzler or FZ-S ?There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.
Honda CBR 650F / CBR 250R ABS Repsol (Sold) / Yamaha FZ-S

Now time has changed my friend, you can't keep any bike for more than 4 yrs in a row, as now you get lot of better performance bike, recently so much developement has happen in last 4 yrs ??Originally posted by hgps View Posthe intends to keep this bike for more than 10years.
We are moving towards new technology and new bike so thught of keeping it for more than 10 yrs will be a wrong decision!!
Even Yamaha and Honda will change thier this model Dazzler and FZ in near future to update ones!! and with new features!!
There are some issues with Dazzler which are reported in ownership thread, like rear disc brake is not hat great as compared to Disc braking! Battery issues in 2 yrs(this can be taken care by regular chack up and replacement).
he is asking which one is better according to his requirements? dazzler or FZ-S ?
FZ is ever green bike till date. But lacks rear disc brake!! not needed either! Great handling as compared to dazzler. better riding postion! Hero on streets!!
FZ's average has been reported low than Dazzler!
If you live with little less mileage then FZ if mileage then Dazzler!!
