    Solution from the ORACLE

I know its kind of OT, but still can find some relevance to your Question.

If you ask the Query to The Oracle in Matrix, this is what she will answer:-
"You did'nt come here(this thread) to make a Choice(to R1 or not to R1). You have already made it.(which I guess is R1). You are here to try to understand why you made it(getting the Nodd from the experts)"
    sigpic
Relationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"

+1 . Probably you are worried about the situation where you might be unable to use the R1 the way you want it to. However, If you love a particular bike, there are no IFs and BUTs. To get something you have to let go something. Hope you get my point here.

You read my mind bro... Yes, I have been drooling for an R1 for a long time, but I want to buy something which I will not regret once bought (buyer's remorse.)

A few people in the know have advised me to look strongly at the CBR1000RR (more India friendly) and the CB1000R (more practical.)

Another query: Is the BMW S1000RR available for legal purchase in India (Bangalore.) Is that something I should be looking at?

Also, what sort of fuel do these monsters drink? Is the Xtra Premium good enough for the R1/CBR1000RR/CB1000R/S1000RR or do I need to always put in Speed 97?

          I hate this confusion.

Check BMW Sports Bikes | BMW Motorcycles | Buy BMW Bikes In India BMW_Motorrad

Do you know the real story behind BMW after sales support or are you simply asking for the sake of it

BTW, Ducati, & Suzuki SBK's are also available in India

PS - Something tells me you're going to buy none, it might be just an hunch & could be wrong, but I get this feeling , no offence

PPS - And you're going to use these SBK's 50% for urban usage

Edit - Humble request go through the following threads

              Don't mind but it's like:

I love one girl from childhood, now when it's time to marry her, I think she is too expensive, her attitude is to much to handle, her costumes/monthly expense is something i won't like.
So my friends say why don't you go for a housewife rather than a hot educative, career loving family woman !!!

Love or dream is something, you except it with all -ve more than it's +ve!!
It' unconditional thought, What ever will come, it will be handled.

My friend rides it, with a mixture!! mostly Premium but some times normal too.

Why don't you say something more on yourself?? what you do and where are you from exactly?? which car you own?? Family members, Cars you own as these are important before buying a SBK.

Awesome! I wonder why need to discuss so much in India. If i had the money and i loved this bike i would have bought it. Max i would have done is read some user reviews and watched some vids on youtube.
Bought my Ninja 250r the same way. Did not have the money before so did not bother. However i never looked for approval from any peers. I person for advice and then my dad cause i just needed to inform him. Money is my own. Took me a year and then i bought it cash down. A superbike would be a future purchase. Kawi for sure. Waiting to see if Bajaj ever launches those. I will say one more thing. If everyone was purely practical, most of us would never achieve anything!

Don't buy the limited edition!Use that money+savings to buy a duke for urban and commuting purposes.

I am very disappointed with most fellow XBHPians by the way they replied to this thread I can understand the mind set kid0m4n had..spending over 17lac isn't a small thing on a bike..& no body would like to regret later after spending that much amount..

most of the guys said that just blindly go with the one you love..but after few months of buying this machine if he'll get to know that he could have got something better in that same price range than all love will vanish in no time..so if you guys can help him buying better machine for his purpose then it'll be helpful for him rather than making comments which makes him think that why the hell he posted this thread & gives an unfriendly feeling in return..

it doesn't matter even if he'll go for the same bike or not but before buying an expensive machine like that, its advisable to do proper research of all products he can get in his budget & then make his mind.

I agrees with u on the research part.. But I disagree on this -"but after few months of buying this machine if he'll get to know that he could have got something better in that same price range than all love will vanish in no time.."
If one is in love with a particular thing from the childhood (as is the case with threadstarter), then the Love won't vanish that easily. For eg look at the RE owners.

though i didn't find your example very appropriate because of the fact that in our country it happens as there's no such alternative to bullet, let any other company just for an example say Triumph makes an another bike similar to RE in looks but with better performance & quality..even RE lovers will run & buy that product..

as per just an example..my friend got P180 couple of years back as he loved it but now after couple of years somewhere he regrets that he should have gone with Karizma or even a CBZ Xtreme at that time..& that was a matter of few thousand bucks but TS is going to spend lacks on a machine..

I am not saying that loving a machine & dreaming about it is a bad thing but still everyone should keep their options open..if there are other alternatives in a similar price range then sometimes you have to think from your mind rather than your heart..though in the end you can go with any,its an individual decision
