It had done about 28000km at that time .. I had to get a new tank for about 5k and a new set of tires as it was running on the original Dunlop Geo cruisers that came with the bike in 2001 .. another 3.5k... Well iv mostly learnt on this bike had quite a few falls on it.. nothing major its got all its parts for 10 years ago except for the above and a cd dawn head lamp and the small here and there with the falls... I quite enjoy the bike but iv been iching for a new bike... Im not a person who likes spending but i was wondering if it is "Worth" keeping this current cbz and doing her up.. Im interested in converting her to dc and replace the worn out plastics all the side panels. As far as i can tell the chassis looks to be in good condition . Also the engine has been losing compression.. the kick just goes down with ease when starting and quite often just cuts out in the middle of the road until warmed up completely.Once warm no issue are there with pickup as such.. It could be the valves or piston rings but I am not sure..

Now my question is it wort spending to do her up or get a new bike. Im not completely sure which new bike.Id ok with anything form a platina to a apache 180... Even the apache 180 gives better mileage than my cbz... i just get around 32-35 per liter
Sell the bike and since you said you need good mileage. 180/200cc dont give you 50kmpl so I suggest you stick to buying any 150cc bike of your choice like the Suzuki GS150R, Honda Dazzler, Hero CBZ 2012 which are really good bikes.
There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

      Hello
So I was talking to the previous owner... he was offered to buy it back once he is back in Mumbai ... which may be feb march next year(he is out on work )... He doesn't want me to sell it off to anyone else as it holds sentimental value to him.Im going to test ride some bikes...I want to try out the discover 150 as i herd its quite a comfortable bike.

So friend why is this thread then ??
If you have purchased the bike from him with proper way then why to sell fim back ??? you sell it to any one. Why he is getting feeling of emotions after such a old time ??

Or it's something fishy here ??

Do oyu really want to buy a bike then what does it matters whether he buys it back or not ? you will sell it to any one.
See we here in Xbhp assume that youstarted this thread with serious note to buy a bike else if it time pass then please don't do?? It doesn't make sense if you are going to buy next year and you start teh thread now!!
Get focus!!! else buy a bike as many experts have suggested here!!

I was actually reading this tread [What Bike]: Daily Commute that does NOT compromise on Comfort
Its more or less what im looking for something comfortable.... which can handle a trip or two .
My tread isn't and wasn't time pass.. I started it out to figure if it was "Worth"selling or keeping my current bike. I got my answer to that.
Now I happened to mention to the previous owner that i was going to sell the bike off. He wanted to buy it back.He lives close by and only sold me the bike since we were close. He had plans to keep it but i managed to convince him to sell it.It does not make a difference to him as he barely rides but the bike holds memories for him.I do not want to take that from him. Im on the look out for a new bike but as u can see there is no absolute hurry.

Yes I want to buy a bike.It does matter as he requested me not to sell it to anyone else.He happens to be a good friend. And i cannot keep two bikes.
To be honest I have no clue which bike i want. All i know is I want something comfortable and little more safer which is why I mentioned the TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS.

          This tread can be closed..
