finally back in india , did a TD of the hyosung gt250r,cbr 250r abs, classic 350,i saw the chrome 500 lol..,duke 200,and tried the avenger 220.

from all the above by looks the best was the hyosung. ijust loved the way it looked but the brand name bothers me much as i would be paying 3.1 lk on road..
duke was decent ,good acceleration and torque and excellent brakes ,but family members never liked the way it looked .. just keeping it on he sidelines..
cbr was the only thing left as the cl 350 ,the waiting period was bad 8 months which i cannot wait..
i loved the way the chrome 500 looked but never got a TD of that and tte same has over 8 months of booking time.. so...
thn it is hyosung ,cbr or the new ninja
hyosung showroom dude was reall ynice and coperative ,i liked the ride and the looks performance was OK, i wouldnot say minblowing but the looks compromised that, still the plastics looked kind of cheap and again the brand name [which i basically donot care]
cbr was my obvious choice but the it never looked big or like a superbike to me,, something like a normal bike with fat back tires and farrings.. ;d soory cbr owners, i donot suppose it has that WOW feel on road..
i was all set to book the ninja 250 but thats when i learned about the facelift in a short while..
im seriouslly in a dilemma and want to get this thought of getting this bike thingy of my head and get one already,
any ideas when the new ninja would be out.. . please suggest should i go for the hyosung 250r or get the cbr 250 or keep waiting for the new ninja 250r...\

I doubt if you will feel comfy with the Hyosung GT. Since you are having a back problem, you will find it difficult to adjust with the sporty ride it offers. Plus, IMO i don't think it will be easy to maneuver in the city. Even the clip-on position and the turning radius are big negatives wrt city rides.
And regarding Ninja, the face lifted version may take some months before coming to India. I feel the only thing against the Baby Ninja is the fact that your nearest PBK showroom is in Trivandrum...200 km south.
It's not about the RIDE. It's about HOW YOU ride :]

bro a new showroom has opened at the vytilla junction, where they have started taking bookings for ninja 250r and 650r .. its basically the KTM store but for ninja as well, the display vehicle will come this week,
and regarding the handle issue i felt the same and the dude has promised me to replace the handle bars with clip ons and raised height so i guess that should solve the issue ,the only thing is this brand winding off after a year and i run outta spares or drastic reduction in price due to localisation.
ninja yes ,, will definetely be november before any update comes out about it .. as the tvm showrooom manager told me..
fingers crossed! i would love to kn ow is the hyosung really a less performer than the ninja that i spend extra 35k and wait for another 4-5 months.?

Frankly Speaking it's waste of money on Ninja or GT250 or CBR when they are not used in right placed that is: Frequent Highway tours!!
A geuine suggestion don't go with bikes at all, buy a mopped/ Sccoter,it is the best.

Go with Activa, Swish,Aviator Access or Vespa!! etc... These are real funs on road in city!! than any bikes, + point is it's automtic, just twist and reach your destination, with out any issues of gear or handling issues in traffic.

If you want the sporty riding then GT250 if you want semi sports riding then Ninja. BTW 250 is bit less performer than Ninja!! but it has good packages too...
Dual projector, Front Dual Disc, Sporty ride, with inverted shocks!!

Now it's your choice!! Mind it, it's a 5 gear bike with close performance to CBR or Ninja!! It's behind with few numbers, which can be neglected if you are not RACING if any Ninja frequently!!!

Then do one thing, buy Hyosung 250R & then hand it over for fully cosmetic finish; change the name to some Ninja or Busa or the brand value that you think is more important

For your city use, I would strongly suggest you save your money & opt for some scooter like Vespa or wait for Yamaha that's due to launch soon. I strongly echo Somen's posts, makes very practical points there.

IMHO, you're actually more than confused

on reading the entire thread, i feel, you should take a break for a few days and rethink-->
              • do you really need a bike?
              • if yes, for what purpose?
              • if you buy a good bike, how much you will actually ride it? .. and..
              • for how long, i.e. how many years?
              consider this-
              • an activa will cost much less than ninja/hyosung etc. + less maintainance cost, less running cost, good resale value and most importantly, very easy to ride.
              • for the kind of money it takes to buy a ninja/hyosung, you can buy a brand new alto etc, which will be much more comfy, will be easy on your back, will come with power steering, AC etc, will protect you in rain and sun, dirt and dust.
              i will suggest-
              • buy -- activa + nano
              or
              • activa only
              or
              • alto only
              or
              • alto + activa
              or
              • nano only.

bro, its not the need of buying a bike ,its the wish to buy one and drive a i have never really owned one and within 2years i would get into practice n a hospital which would mean no bikes for me !

yes yes!! my dad wouldnt let me buy a sooty int the forst place ,he says its dangerous because of its small tires and the road condition is kind of bad here ... and i tend to drive fast . used to drive a activa for nearly 5 years ..

When you are not going to use it on highways or tour then were will you use those powers and speed??
When a tiger kept as a shepherd then it's of no use, he will do "Meeh Meeh" only, but if it's in wild with in it's group, then he will surely roar loud.

So it means if you want to own a medium range SBK i.e NINJA or GT or CBR then please start touring leaving your Skoda at home for long tour.
Buying a SBK is not that imp where as riding it is important!!
Your lines says that yo ujust want to buy it for status, throttle and all are crap!!
Throttle needs space and highway, which you will get it on long tours only. Else they are like tiger with Shepherds characteristic.
You are very well prone to cars, think for some good cars instead of a bike, else start riding with touring....

And when you have all highend cars at home then why not something matching to it?? Say HD or Hyosung ST7 or Triumph, etc ??

Use right thing at right place...

I think I can undersdtand your condition and I would suggest you to go in for the green Ninja and enjoy it while you can. Your heart is all set for the Ninja, so why waste time speculating when the new model will arrive and even after it does, there will surely be a good amount of waiting period.

So just close your eyes and get the Ninja. You will not regret it. maybe after a few rides, you may even start going on long rides with it, leaving your cars at home.

If your not going on highways or on long trips then why don't you try zmr? Riding position is seriously the best. Neither too sporty nor too casual.. Decent power. Or else a cbr 250. Other bikes are seriously not worth for city rider. You'll loose your mileage plus you wont be able to extract the true potential of those bikes.

What does this mean dude?? if he is not planning for for long tour then he should go for ZMR or CBR 250?? till now i saw/heard people suggesting CBR 250 against RE for Touring capabilities and secondly ZMR, but your opinions are very contradict from ours or touring aspects??

Will CBR or ZMR will give the right mileage or true potential in city ??

IMO duke best suited for ur needs
                            1)normal riding posture
                            2)awesome acceleration
3)lightest of all the bikes mentioned by a huge margin
                            4)also the best street bike

1 and 3 are very important for your back problem right...

I've been riding zmr since 1.5 yrs.. To be absolutely honest according to me for a 223cc engine, the mileage figures are awesome.. City-40 approx.. Highway-45+.. Nothing below that.. Riding posture-ride it once and you'll surely know for yourself!!

If your not touring and if you buy a ninja or any higher end bike, then its of no use as compared to buying a zmr or a cbr and ridding in city rite? Riding in city with a ninja is better or riding a zmr is better? Am not telling its really good to ride it in cities.. Its just better when you ride a zmr in city as compared to a ninja.. Since power is a requirement along with good riding posture zmr and cbr came to my mind.. And yes my opinion may contradict other's unless you understand what my intensions really are..
