  • Duke 200?? CBR 250?

    Hello everybody!!!
Just when I made my mind very clear regarding my step to go ahead with the KTM duke 200 all of a sudden I have thoughts to consider the CCB 250 RR!!
This concludes me to a messed up situation
Unfortunately I put up at mumbai within that one of the most jammed suburb,my height is 6 feet! Age 24 years old and prior to this buy I used Honda unicorn for 39k kilometres.
My usage will be minimum on a daily basis if I can consider about 60/80 kilometres per week maximum but in city traffic and minimum usage of highway, whereas my main reason to upgrade is I will love to go out for a Long ride/ tour at a average of once a month out station for a ride upto 150+ kilometre. One way!!

Have some set of question please help me if you guys can

Which is the best bike performance wise? Not necessary top speed! And so on
What is easier to ride and feel comfortable in city and highway?
    Which one will suit touring?
Being a 6 footer which bike will be more comfortable?
Which bike will have a better ease of maintainence?
Which bike will have better resale value?

    Thanks and regards!!!

For city ride the Hyundai I10 or Nissan Micra would be the best, for highways get the Figo or Swift.

Why Always Duke is compared to CBR250 straight?? One is purely city bike. Duke is not stable as compare to CBR on higher Speeds, i.e >120kmph due to it's naked type!!
Your maximum usage is 500kms a month with exceptional if any long tour for 300kms both side so all it is 800-900kms so Duke is Fine. with major City rides.
CBR is for extreme touring and long rides, who sleeps CBR, eats CBR and Walk CBR, Ride CBR! Investing approx 1.7L for just 1000kms a month is something i would really ask you??? If you are speed Freak with power then Yes CBR, ut if notas you mentioned below so enjoy Duke!!

If want to buy CBR25 then
Speed or power freak or Passion
              else
              No CBR!!

When speed is not a concern then rule out CBR, Duke is also best below 120kmph and better on city roads then CBR!

Any time Bajaj due to it's cheap n affordable spare parts!!, so Duke!!

I think none INMO, as both are high end bikes and non average bikes so only keen people would buy it, That means limited window. Else would be sold with big depreciation!!

CBR is something that people buy with their passion, none of the CBR owners really thinks on maintenance!! The just enjoy the power and Speed on highways!!

BTW will you spend 1.7 Lakhs for a two wheeler ?? where as Duke is for 1.37L there is a difference of approx 35K.

Do you have comaprision between Duke and CBR?? I guess you should put that, there were few more threads for the same comparision!! Duke or CBR25??
And "one IF condition", if thread is related to CBR250 then your FAQs should be like mandatory read agreement before the thread can be posted!!

Err...sure Are you saying D200's parts are cheaper than CBR 250R? Not sure if I got your question right

For that, I've to own or get to ride D200 for few days & experience them on roads, otherwise my comparison will never be different from what the auto journalists do.

+1; and from that there will be two outcome; either they'll stay off from CBR 250R or will never include CBR 250R for their comparison.

@Saru_24: After reading your requirements I would suggest you Duke200 than CBR250R.

Having tough time selecting a bike and looking for experts’ opinion? Then this is the place for you...

One of the Duke owner said in Saru's previous Duke thread that his first Servicing cost was merely Rs221 only

I am dead sure that CBR will cost more than this, Mine all free service was always around Rs1200/- engine oil only he use to charge me with some 470/- approx. Where as FZ owner use to get their bikes serviced for Rs660.

Else we need some Duke owner to step in your shoes for Duke, same as you did in ownership thread!!

Aaha...what surprises me is that you were conveniently taken by that statement!!!

Rs 221 for what service? I can say CBR's service cost not more than Rs 120, but if you drill me, I spill out the truth - for lubing chain. Trust me, I get that done at free of cost at JSP.

C'mon, even if you knock off labor for free service, what about engine oil? Filter?

May or may not be, that we don't know unless we compare service to service

My first service was not more than Rs 800 or so; Rs 550 for oil & Rs 250 or so for filter. These days its Rs 1100 for oil (2 litre) & may be Rs 300 for filter.
