Topic Approved. Let's get some facts clear:

1. CBR 125R and Duke 125 are not available in our country. Forget them.

2. CBR 150R and Duke 200 are available but they cost above 1 Lacs each. They exceed your mentioned budget. Will you able to manage a cool 30 thousand extra for them?

If so, then R15 should be considered too, which has got almost everything right- handling, ride, build quality, engine, console, chassis, etc.!

3. Mostly any 150cc+ bike can do fine for a 300 kms trip. Even my humble 5 years old P180 did a 576 kms trip in a day, without any hiccups. It is damn reliable!

I suggest you get the Pulsar 200 NS or the Pulsar 180 UG4. Both fall in your budget and match all your needs.
Otherwise, Karizma is another good bike, but its mileage is around 30s in the city.

I Am a mechanical engineer and work in bangalore. I need some help in choosing a suitable bike for my requirements.
I am 5'5" and quite a lot less acted upon by gravity

as i weigh only 50 Kgs.

Requirements:
1. budget: under 1 lakh.
2. daily commute about 30Kms and weekend long distance travel. ( thinking of using the bike to travel to my native once in 2 months which is about 300 Kms away)
3. has to look good if not better as i am single

4.fuel economy is a factor but not that it will make me buy a cycle instead of a bike ( 40+ Kmpl should be good to go )
5. cubic capacity: looking for something in the 150cc & above capacity (although i came across the honda cbr125 R Review yesterday and now having second thoughts

)
6.comfort of riding .. not talking about the sitting posture..
7. Good Reliable Engine.

I had one thing and only one thing in my mind "the KTM DUKE 125" .. but its such a torture they wont launch it here in India even though they assemble it here

.. Thanks to that Rob Bagoros guys stunt video in youtube.. so i decided to let it go and move on before i get retarded .. but its still in the corner of my eye ..

so did some homework and have finalized on "the Honda Unicorn Dazzler"

but i want to know your opinions..

i feel you should go for Yamaha fazer or Pulsar 200NS both have killer looks ,decent mileage and a well refined engine....pulsar's reliablity is a question but i believe the user reviews are coming good for P200NS......i personnaly dnt like dazzler in terms of looks...but honda wont disappoint you for their quality.....

ya came to know the cbr 125 and duke 125 will not be launche in India .

Havent given a thought about CBR 150 .. but duke 200 Definitely considered and ruled out. CBR 150 is also pretty costlier than my budget.

I know R15 is one of the best performers now .. but again costly and it looks big .. dont Forget i am only 5'5" .

as For pulsar 200NS i checked it out .. Big, heavy and felt the front end is heavy .. dont know if i can handle that .

Hello

I had been to my native and got a chance to ride the Yamaha FZS for few days ..
Amazing bike this one i must say.. never thought it would be so fun to ride.. Had Considered FZS and had ruled it out because of the practical minded people surrounding me

But now i Know why all those guys in the review videos are always Biased towards this bike ( FZS) when there is a comparison

But my mind is still hooked on to Honda Dazzler which still has to be tested..

Go For R15 if you are not worried about mileage.

Karizma is also in your range but also expect the mileage same as R15.

Unicorn is fine for you.

That is a very nice bike .. my friend has one and has given me good feedback .. but i am not so pleased with its looks and also its pretty heavy some 145+ kgs if i am not wrong

I would say your decision with dazzler is good. Even i am in the same dilemma as you are. Atleast you have a choice here but i am confused. I wanted to buy the R15. Since the rear is pretty odd styled i dropped it and opted for KTM Duke. But there is no service for KTM duke in my city. Got to ride 200+kms just for a service

Dude FZ is a good option...it is more good looking and fun to ride...
Or what about an apache...???

Way better than Dazzler(in terms or power and enthusiasm) Am only 5'4 and both FZ and RTR are comfortable for me....

Thank you for your opinion Balamuruga.. Your Ride(200 duke) is awesome .. I am a mechanical engineer and the tech they have shoved in it is amazing ..but i only ruled it out because its costly , poor fuel economy , and i am single so i dont want a attractive pillion companion to tell me she would rather ride with my friend in his splender than get a sore but riding with me hehehe ;-)

Do not think more. According to me if you need a reliable bike its hero or yamaha. Pulsars are good but not for me.. A cbz extreme or a hunk? Provided you ride them first to check if your height is ok. Or else the best option of them all. Fzs! Comfortable regardless of height and has cool looks too!

Test ride the CB unicorn.. Had used Uni for 5 years!!!
very good on average, Performance, excellent comfort level, best handler on road as well!!
