    -> My budget is 6 lakhs and im still saving that money , Im expecting to save for it by mid 2013

    -> I want a sports bike , currently own a FZ and i love it ... just that now i want to promote to a more powerful bike

    -> I want to buy a new bike , not a pre owned

    -> The list of bikes im confused are

    1) hyosung GT 650 R
    2) Kawasaki Ninja 650

      Out of the 3 bikes that you listed, my vote goes to the Ninja 650R.
      AFAIK the bookings are open as of now. Book it now, you should get delivery by Q1 next year.

        Think again!! This a crusial step you are taking!! Sports bike comes with great responsibilities and same as an average segment car maintenance!!

        Spare part and SVC issue with the hyosung!! Still they are working hard to get themselves set on this!!

        Very virgin in India!!

        Actually you should go with a brand which is very well settle in india!! I would suggest it's better you go with Ninja 250r

        HD 883 is acutally best for touring with 6.5L OTR.

        But i would still say Ninja650r or GT650 or Trimup this mega tons are very new to market and they are openly expected by people yet!! So it's better you go with Ninja250r, best in touring capability and ride position!! with better SVC then 650sss...and you will save good amount!! It's better to not own rather than waiting for parts in SVC!!

          Dayatona is way above your budget and not even released and Hyosung is just

          2013 Kawasaki Ninja 650 is the best and ONLY bike that fits your budget currently in market.

          If Kawasaki Versys 650 was in India it would've been great but its not there. Ducati may be a reputed brand but they're trash in India right now making people wait forever for the Monster 795 and suddenly increasing prices. Triumph has Street Triple and Bonneville in your budget but again they'll need you to wait.

          But yeah as somen said, consider carefully if you DO need a big bike and if yes, see if you're fully prepared to own one (complete set of safety gears without any compromises, adequate & safe parking wherever you go, readiness to spend on premium fuel, readiness to shell out good amounts for vehicle repair, etc). Sometimes you'll see that instead of a supersports, a quarter litre big bike would also do the trick. Do try everything in the market before finalizing with one.

            Strike off GT from your list. Reason : pathetic after sales. Daytona would be around 8 lakhs. Overshoots your budget.

              I hope you are ready to sustain the cost just in case.

              1) GT650R : The only negative is its after sales and harshness of V Twin engine , rest if by Mid 2013 Hyosung can increase their level of customer satisfaction, you can get this.
              2) Ninja 650 : "Best buy" , only if they have stock available by then, they are still loosing customers due to the long waiting period. BTW their finance system is good, if you want to get the bike now, have a look on it.
              3) Daytona 675 : Will touch 8lac when it gets launched . Plus its not the "675R" so I will not place my bet on this

                Thanks guys for lot of quick replies ...

                @Somen :

                -> I know there is a big maintenance coming up with a super bike .. but i have thought about it . My parents want me to buy a car but i somewhat dont like car as much as i love riding a bike so im ready for the maintainence

                -> I dont want to buy a 250 segment bike now , i want to have that big machine feel and aura of it , after i retire my FZ which is now 35,000 km old i will buy a 250 segment but not now

                @MHG

                -> I hope and am sure that im prepared to own one .. safety gears i wear it even now when i ride an FZ , Parking I have a huge space in my house , Fuel shldnt be a wory because this is not my commute bike

                @Prateek2210

                -> I wan exited when ninja released its 650 but , i was dissapointed seeing it though , it doesnt have that super bike looks . Its more of a naked bike and im looking for a fully faired bke

                @all .. I can extend my budget to couple of lakhs if im getting what i want . I want info on waiting time and should i book the bikes now so that i get it by next year ?... what is the booking amount i have to pay them

                Personally i liked the Daytona , but they dont seem even know when they are starting production ...dont we have bikes in this segment other than this three what about CBRs or SUZUKI

                  Don't know what's the confusion here; there're only 2 choices for now, GT650R or N650R, all the pros & cons have discussed to death here.

                  All other 650cc's are in cards, when the time comes to purchase, let's bring in them for added confusion until then, we only have to worry about just 2 of them, unless you're willing to change your requirements!!!

                    Naked!!!!!!! Are you kidding me? Just check the reviews of 650 and you will love the way it has been made. And if you want just looks rather than practicality and availability, I will say "All the best"

                    Booking amount , waiting period depends on the company, and every bike differs in that.

                    First of all, Daytona will not be manufactured here. Plus it will take some time to get it launched and as I quoted if you want the 675 then be ready to shell out 8lacs + servicing cost on top of that.
                    And "NO" we don't have any other bikes in India other than these or else we could have mentioned it

                          Hmm so better I will give a visit to both Hyosung ad Kawasaki guys and give a test ride and get the info on the waiting time and booking amount ....

                          I was very positive about hyosung until they parted ways with GARWARE .. now i guess i dont have any choice left :-( .. such a pity in our country we have to struggle to buy a superbike without the heavy import duties

                            Yes, unless 650N wants to be categorized under sports bike

                            It's very good to have such high tax & I would even love to have 150% for a very fact that we find negligible amount of RIDERS & almost handful riding responsibly!!! I really don't like to see people dying for no fault of others!!!
