  • New bike for around 78k

Hey guys, am new on this site, but kept reading about many bikes over here.
Now I want to purchase a new bike, by december, so am very confused, as no bike is perfect. Its going yo be my first bike.
Thought of getting pulsar 135ls first, but my friends said it would look funny as I am 6'3 inch tall and weigh around 80kgs
I read people suggesting cbz extreme and hunk, but i dint like it much, looks specially. And I want to use the bike for 3.5 years atleast. Mileage not a concern, anything above 38-40 will do good, as I will travel for only 7-8kms everyday

Now am confused which bike to get
    1) rtr 160 2012: looks wise its nice, speed and acceleration, damn good for my liking I love the engine. Decent mileage too, but is it small for me ? People say that

2)Fazer: looks damn good according to me, love the fairing, decent performance with good fe, very smooth engine monocross rear, would be good for a tall guy like me ? and both the headlights of da bike dont glow ? I read it somewhere, I need both lights on.! And how is the comfort and performance compared to rtr160 ? How long will the bike last ?

This are the 2 bikes which I liked,
please suggest me either of the 2, or something else which will suit me. I want my ride to be fun.
Dazzler, unicorn I dint like cause of looks, pulsars 150,180 look outdated. 200ns over my budget
Fz looks funny from the front (my opinio/, don't start a fight please)
hope you'll suggest me the best one, and please don't suggest a bike with higher price as am tight on budget.
    Thank you.!

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

at around budget of 78 k,you can surely get a rtr but not fazer.
at low beam only one light glows in fazer ,that's true.

if 'fun' is the only element you are looking for make sure you get a rtr.[the now-refined-once-vibrator,and my personal favourite
      ]
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

78K has lot of options you can still look forward

        RTR160 (Favorite)
        FZ160 (Favorite)
        Pulsar 150
        Pulsar 180
        Unicorn
        Unicorn Dazzler
        Gs 150
        Hunk
        CBZ

But Like you i also have Stuck with the top two options
Test dove both the bikes and my insights of the Bikes are

        FZ16 =
+, Amazingly powered engine, Superb Looks, Nice City riding abilities with good amount of torque, Light weight can help zip zap through the traffic, More color options
-, Less mileage compared to others, Fully Digital Console,(Could be a bit eye wobbling), No Options available for Rear Disc (Too bad because the engine has lot of capability but no Rear Disc), No Kicker(Battery drained - no choice to pull the bike)

        RTR 160 =
+, Amazingly powered engine, Nice City riding abilities with good amount of torque, Light weight can help zip zap through the traffic, Amazing Blue lit console, frightening Pilot lamps, Optional Rear disc, Better mileage, Available kicker when compared to FZ
-, Badly Placed spoilers looks a bit outlandish, Color options available are not attractive.

Both are street fighters, Both has many capabilities than mentioned above

As you have not mentioned the speeds you would like to ride at. Getting hint from Pulsar 135, It should be somewhere around 80-90 max. I would suggest an FZ over RTR.
RTR is pure high speed bike. For your height - Not suited at all.
If I were you - I would have got a Pulsar 180(not exactly sure of the price.. It may fit in your budget - But you consider it outdated).
As I am not you - FZ it is!
Comfortable ride, Comes with Kickstart unlike what someone mentioned here, Fazers fairing is useless for small city rides of 7-8 kms, Fazer is out of your budget.

Thanks for all your replies guys, choosed fazer cause of its fairing, fz as I said I find the headlight part funny(my opnion), and 2 of my friends already own a fz, so don't want the same bike.
Will b riding 8-9kms on 60,70kmph in city for college, and 80-90 kms on highway on sat and sunday speed of 80-100kmph.
And I need good acceleration, as I love going ahead of every one during traffic.
People said rtr engine may die after 2-3 years, and yamaha would last long, and its very smooth and well refined.
Fazer looks big and perfect for my height how about the 220 ? I guess its way over my budget.!

Why don't you consider impulse? Fits in your budget,Comfort is unbeatable I can assure you that
As you're 6'3 ,it will suit you more

Apache and fz are short bikes. If you can afford fazer ,its a good choice
If you ride like there's no tomorrow there won't be.

Budget of 78k and height of 6.3" which makes the thing very difficult, where as you are open with mileage from 38 and above...

RTR series is surely not for you because of your height!! RTR would be small as per you!! Where as RTR was good, but still i am Septical, Does RTR comes for 78k?? or below??

Frazer was best for you as it suits tall people but the only issue is it's over 85K or around that.

The best bike that suits you are Discover 125ST/NS200/Karizma/P220/TBTS/Stunner/P180..etc

I am thinking when you are about to book the bike in Dec then why not Karizma or P220 or NS200 ?? Currently you have 78k by the time Dec comes you will be able to save more 20k. When you don't care for the mileage then why not a better bike which will serve you best in long time.

My suggestion is : Your Height is tall, don't go for bikes which are not meant for you becuase you want to buy a bike?? Buy it late but the perfect one for you.

                        So, Karizma/P220/NS200 are <1L but approx 1L.

And P150 or P180 are outdated by P150 delivers a best mileage of 60kmpl and P180 is for those you don't go for P220 for cost reasons.Even Dazzler was nice Dual Disc with Honda Tech.

Think Wisely!! It's better you don't buy now!! And save money for better bike!! Else go with EMI for 1 yr with 30-40k as DP you can close the EMI in 1 yr!!
Karizma/P220/NS200 are all in range of 40-45kmpl, least 35kmpl. NS200 is little over than this!!

acceleration is almost similar as there only 0.8 ps diff between fz and impulse . I felt handling is better than fz.The riding position is not sporty .its more commuter-ish.no back pain ,no pressure on hands or shoulders .Rider comfort and pillion comfort is bliss

Also ,you need to see this

+1 to that, yes impulse gives a great comfort, fatique free ride. Especially for tall monks like us (am 6' 1" ). Btw, apache is a good bike, but definetely definetely not for a tall guy like you. It cramps your legs and at long drives you are gonna curse yourself, fazer a tad better but still wont be comfortable. Pulsar 200NS would be better suited for you than these but since budget is not allowing you, you can TD the other bikes and take a call. Do TD a impulse, before taking a call.
Its crime to ride a car alone, so I ride bike :).
