  • Apache RTR 180 and Apache RTR 180 ABS !!

Hi guys this is my first post in xbhp So i was planning on getting a bike within 85k so i googled and stumbled upon xbhp and ive read a couple of threads ,posts and ive finalized it to Apache RTR 180 so the thing that bugs me is the ABS (and yea ive read pretty good comments here in xbhp)is it really that good as people say it is and is it worth the $$ ?i am 5'11 and ~70kgs and i ride in the city with an avg speed of 60-80kmph and i consider myself a bike lover and also can someone give me the on-road cost of both the ABS and the non ABS ones in Chennai ?

    Thread Approved

A safety tech is always a nice to have feature. Among the 2, please go for the RTR180 ABS.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

while i think abs should be made optional for >150 cc segment in india, considering the ever-so-surprising roads we have, the cost factor will still be the hindrance between mass and abs,so if you have the moolah it is no brainer that, you should opt for abs,no matter how less it is required ,it is worth the every penny.
the price difference between a std and abs model is almost 10 k i guess.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
      #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Me too in same Dilema -
My Flame has become mortal and its time for a new horse - RTR was always my Dream bike and i test drove one and it feels good and awesum
On road price for RTR 180 ABS is 94k in chennai
On road price for RTR 180 is 84K in Chennai

The fact is i like the White colour that is the only decent looking RTR in the current spoilers that are attached with the RTR but white is available only 180cc version not in 160cc
But with 84K you get NS with more technology - so the dilemma has stuck me.
But ABS is something that will be used only in TVS Bikes (Below 250cc) and you want Safe Braking, TVS is the only option in INDIA (Too sad but that is the truth)

ABS is anytime a best option. today you are talking about 60-80kmph but tomorrow if you hit highways and unleashed the RTR 180 power then this will help you all time!! Go for it!!

This is from an RTR 180 ABS owner : Go for the ABS eyes closed. The money you are paying is worth every paise! The ABS works beautifully. Goes great with the gut wrenching power the beast produces.
