The fact is all about the Torque - Fazer is a Torque monster and dream to drive in city traffic by cutting the traffic and though it seems to be Big it is very maneuverable in the city traffic.
    On the Other hand
Dazzler is same as CB Unicorn and i would say it suits people who look for less joy in ride and who worries on more mileage.

The best difference between both the fazer and Unicorn is the Rear sets - yes this may not be appealing to few people but the rearsets makes a good difference in the ride quality of both the bike.
Mileage, Styling, Engine kill switch, are the major difference between both the bikes.

I beg to differ with that part in red. Fazer may be a little more engaging in ride, but Dazzler is not far behind. The handling is as good as Fazer with its excellent monoshock and low saddle. Dazzler is not just about mileage as you assume it; its fun to ride too.

If you really wanted a FZ (or Fazer), you would have understood the grip and handling benefits of the fat rear tyre rather than point out its lower FE it causes. Your riding and usage patterns might not require all that extra grip and you could really use the money saved on fuel! I don't blame you if you don't know this already since this is only your first bike.

If you've had to ask this question here, its obvious that you yourself don't know what you want from the bike.

How I see it is, for a first bike, unless and until I know precisely what I will be using the bike for, I would rather have a jack of all trades i.e. an all-rounder like a Dazzler/CBZ Extreme/P150 rather than a master of one, i.e., something like an R15/FZ/P220. I would suggest you to do the same.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

          75K in Bangalore!!!

In chennai, fazer costs 86-87K...how come huge price difference?

Why? Here are my arguments for you:

First Fazer and Dazzler both cost approx. Rs75000 OTR in bangalore, so same price

Also both have same HP - 14bhps... BUT Dazzler is lighter! And less bulky. The only reason the Fazer might seem more appealing is because its max torque is at 6000rpm whereas Dazzler its at 6500rpm. As a result Fazer might seem more fun, but it is not! Why? I would have bought this argument had we been talking about FZ16 but because the front fairing of fazer is so bulky, it is not as much fun as as an FZ.

Further, the max power of Fazer comes in at 7500rpm whereas Dazzlers max power comes in at 8500rpms and this is the reason that given a long enough stretch, the FZs and Fazers are NEVER able to keep up with a Dazzler, they simply loose grunt after 7500rpms, ask any FZ owner what happens to the bike after 7500rpms. This itself should tell you which is more highway worthy, the cruising rpm of dazzler is 6500rpm (max torque), i.e. 87kmph (it does 80kmph at 6000rpm and I cruise at that speed btw also it does 94kmph at 7000rpms, ample for overtaking most cars) where as the cruising rpm of Fazer is 6000rpm (max torque rpm) and above that for long hours would be stressing the engine. At 100kmph FZs loose all grunt while Dazzler still has some juice left.

Now for the features, both bikes are almost identical in all features: 12L tanks, no kicker in both, Fazer should technically have better lights at night but since only one headlight works at a time, therefore same headlights, both have digital consoles, comfortable seats, O ring chains etc. But Dazzler has rear disc which FZ/Fazer dose not.

AND there are KNOWN issues with the rear tyre of FZ/Fazer where the rim gets bent due to potholes and the tyre looses all tyre pressure. Dazzler also has known issues with batteries, but not only does the battery get replaced free within warranty (I got mine for free ) push starting dazzler is crazy easy, infact I rode my bike WITHOUT any battery for 2 weeks and it runs just fine. Living without a battery is as easy or as difficult as living with a bike whose rear tyre needs air every morning.

Now the claim that fairing improves highway worthiness of a bike. True! BUT only if the bike is going to be doing in excess of 100kmph the whole day. Neither FZ/Fazer nor Dazzler can do that. What they can do is 80-90kmph the whole day. You don't really need a fairing for that as any hard core tourer will tell you.

And to top it up, mileage. Dazzler WILL give you 50kmpl no matter what. Most owners in the owner-ship thread claim 55. Many have ACTUALLY got more than 60kmpl and more on highways consistently. These figures cannot be even imagined for FZ/Fazer.

So my final answer to you. Are you an urban warrior? Do you weave in and out of city-traffic like crazy? Do you race every time the signal turns green only to race again at the next signal? Do you crave the exhilaration of acceleration over the adrenalin of speed? If you answer YES to any of the above go for the FZ (Fazer is really pointless actually)

I get my fix from highway speeds and high mileage so I went for the Dazzler and have never looked back!

Fazer was ~88K in Hyd three months back.. May be he wanted to write Fz and not Fazer.. Fazer wont be less than 83K anywhere in India.
For the threadstarter - I think Dazzler is more than enough for all your requirements.

Hey my mistake guys. Thanks for pointing out. It is 74987 ex showroom in bangalore, so roughly +10000 OTR with taxes. Apologies guys, my mistake!

Anytime Dazzler!! Dazzler has good power with mileage and nice handling and Dual Disc helps in control too.

Why are there so few dazzlers on the street when the price of dazzler and pulsar 150 is almost the same??? Is it because the looks are not that Aggressive and big as an fz or is it because of some other reason?
This question needs an answer by yourself! FZ is for those who would like to do ZIC Zag in City and needs Killer Looks!!
P150 is in fame just because it's less costly with the spec it offers, with a low Spare part cost.

Dazzler has Unicorn engine with Dual Disc etc. Honda has little higher cost in parts, etc compare to other brands, similarly Yamaha.

Dazzler owners are a happy lot...they complain about out lack of spares and battery issues but eventually get them resolved and always mention I get 45-55+ mileage.
Yes + No, actually what i have heard from my friends riding Dazzler are something opp, they get all parts on time and very happy to SVC also. Actually this depends on place and SVC kind. But yes earlier there were issues with parts availability in different region of India.

Rumors and unwanted customers are there in all places. If Dazzler was so bad then it should have been closed long back but it din't. IN 2008 there was a news of R15 catching fire and a case was filed, but the error was from rider, he kept the cloth in engine place with no coolant in radiator which led to heat and finally fire, does this means Yamaha made a cheap product?? Nope!!

                * My uncle has an FZ which is about a year old I can always use that if I want a bit of Yamaha. he also says 35-38 Mileage.
                * My Parents have a Honda Aviator so I know how reliable Honda stuff is.
This is not about Kmpl, but it's about Mind Satisfaction and right choice. But right choice would be with advance tech. Dazzler has Honda engine with good features, so Who wins here?? FZ, GS or Dazzler ?? Anytime Dazzler because it can do all things with good honda engine and Dual Disc.

Dazzler is an all rounder in city + highway+ family bike!! Good average and features will help you with good relation.

5 month old manufactured Dazzler won't be a problem. Becuase rarely any second owner would check that or matters. But i am thinking why wasn't that bike sold yet?? Did you enquired some other show room??

If he gives you the extended warranty for free or something free then go for it. Else book a new one and wait for 45 days.

Regarding check list they are almost same for all:
                    1. Scratches or dent
                    2. Oilled parts
                    3. Battery
                    4. alignment check with ride.
                    5. Lights, indicator.
                    6. tyre pressure
                    7. engine sound and exhaust sound.
                    8 Tool Set
                    9. electricallys.
                    10. Kms on the speedometer, etc

Mostly you go for registartion with them else they ramp bike like no tomorrow!!

Dont go for this bike (5 month old) There is a catch.. A bike with waiting period of 45 days and 5 month in stock!! Are you kidding me?
As Somen said try other showrooms. Wait for 45 days or else take a bike that's 1 month old manufactured..

By the way, today a red and mostly black dazzler moved along my bike and what a beauty it was.

Dazzler is anytime better bike than FZ, becuase it has good average of 50kmpl+ along with dual Disc which is most important even if we disregard mileage...
